Thanks Antony, I was hoping I would get a response from some one who
had experience creating videos in Reaper who could point me to an
article that they had learned from, but, none-the-less, here is the
video which I was referring to.

Re: Firefox crashing after upgrading to NVDA rc3

hurrikennyandopo ...

Hi Pranav

Out of curiosity is your computer a 64 bit operating system? is it
running Windows 10? version 1803?

When you go to open mozilla fire fox either through the short cut or by
going the other way and typing in the search box firefox.exe I think it
is then does it go to load then a crash report comes up? I am wondering
if it was a 32 bit version of fire fox? on a 64 bit operating system.

The reason i ask this is on my computer it is running windows 10 version
1803 which is a 64 bit operating system and i was running the latest
beta and RC builds of nvda and I had a 32 bit version of fire fox on the
computer. When i opened it with the betas and RC builds it would crash.

It would not do it on the stable or the alfas either.

I then tried out a 64 bit version of fire fox and it loads properly and
works normally. I think it may be a bit slower?

If you want to grab a portable copy of fire fox with both the 32 bit and
64 bit version of fire fox in it.  Then under the fire fox portable
directory look for apps then either fire fox then fire fox.exe for the
32 bit version. If you press the enter key then it goes to load then
crashes  that is the one i guess you have.

If you then try out the fire fox 64 then fire fox.exe file then press
the enter key and it loads correctly and does not crash and works
normally that is what i have done at present. I have made a ticket for
it as well about this.

Hi Paul,

Press WINDOWS+. or WINDOWS+; to open the emoji panel, then either right
arrow through the items in the current section, press tab to move to the
sections and arrows to choose a new section, or start typing to search for
emoji, eg "cake"
🍰, "Smiling" or "firetruck" 🚒 (as with many other
search fields, you don't necessarily have to type the full thing - I typed
"fire" to narrow the results down to a handful to get the fire truck).

Press ENTER to insert your chosen emoji, and escape to close the panel.

You could say that email is "just a texting and audio messaging application"
(since it's text-based, but you can attach audio files if you wish), and yet
here we are on a mailing list, where email links you to a group of people all
discussing a common topic...

As for "creating text items or something like that" as shown in "a video
created by the guy from the Reaper blog", it might help if you tell us where
to find this video so we can see for ourselves what it is you're trying to
understand.

Hi Manish,

In Windows Text-to-speech settings (start typing text to speech settings in the start menu) there is a slider for "speed".  Move that further to the right to increase the speech rate.  Note that this setting as well as NVDA's speech rate together both affect how fast the voice talks, so the fastest speed would be both at max.

Has anyone else noticed this and figured out a way around this?

Hi.

It appears there are still issues, I have noticed this particular one, itunes interface does not refresh when changing some elements and links on the pages, nvda stops interacting and looks to be frozen, I have alt tabbed but never tried refreshing the page as of yet though.

the topic is here

http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?id=25770

the text of the pertinant information is below.

I've found a bug in the interface. When I go to the store, and search for something, it still does the thing where it doesn't refresh the page. No problem, I thought. Tried pressing NVDA plus f5, then it said, loading document, and then... iTunes has crashed.
Am wondering what the best thing would be to do here.
update: alt tabbing away and back to the window seems to work temporarily.

I am not sure but if this could get looked at and solved if possible before release would be good even if it doesn't get fixed now at least the thing works now.

I missed the beginning of this, but if you're looking for stuff that does notation, MuseScore can at least read it, rather you can read it with it, and some work was done on making adding notation accessible, but I haven't messed with any of it. Here's the main MuseScore page.

Well, they have to have changed something, and I think in this enlightened
age they should have not altered things so vital to screenreaders.
It means everyone is playing catch up when the real culprits just sail on
regardless.

Has anyone created a ticket on Github abut iTunes 12.9? Apple Support did
reach out to me via Twitter, but they gave me the standard Yaba dab about
contacting the 3rd party software company which is NV Access.

You may wish to check your standard browser. Maybe it is another
instance of Firefox.

Hi Felix,

I am on Windows 10. I suspect the problem is with firefox. I have installed it once again and if I launch firfefox from the desktop icon, I can use it but if I go to the run box with windows + r and type my URL, the firefox that comes up crashes. I do not know what has happened to my installation.

Hi!
In case it helps to track it down: Here on Win 7 64 bit with latest Firefox 62 I cannot reproduce. What OS were you using?

Have you restarted the computer since updating NVDA? Sometimes weird things can happen in between updating and rebooting.

Hi all,

I have upgraded to NVDA 2018.3 rc3. Whenever I launch firefox, it
crashes. I have tried restoring defaults without success. This did
not happen when I was using NVDA 2018.2.

Any ideas? I believe I am on the latest version of firefox but cannot
say. I have been updating regularly.
