The screen reader addon for kodi can be found within the kodi program itself

So unfortunately you will need sighted help to search and install the addon

After its been installed you should be good to go

Re: ccleaner new version

Gene

This won't help with correcting the current problem.  I suspect you may need sighted assistance.  But if you look at the web site of a program if you think the program should be removed differently than usual and/or or ask here if you have a problem or if you hink a different removal procedure is necessary or desirable, you may save time and trouble.  the web site doesn't say to turn off Avast as a process.  I have Avast.  I don't know if your experience will be the same but when I uninstalled it from one machine, I used add/remove programs, it was an XP machine, and started the uninstallation as usuall.  Then at some point, a non-speaking are you sure dialog came up.  I pressed the space bar and speech returned.  I was then able to continue.  I thought that might be happening because of past experience with the program where a non-speaking dialog comes up when doing certain things.

And the web site says to first try uninstalling the program using Programs and Features and if that doesn't work, to use their uninstallation tool.  It says nothing about disabling any processes first.  The program has a self-defence system and it may prevent you from doing so anyway.  It won't let you stop running it using the task manager.  You can turn the self-defense system off from within the program.  You may want sighted help to do so.  Since the web site doesn't mention doing this, it may make no difference.

Oh man, I broke my main system Friday trying to get rid of the evil
thing that is Avast! To make a long story short, I was trying to stop it
from starting up so I could do the manual uninstall. I went into
MSConfig in order to do that and instead of disabling just the Avast
services, somehow I managed to disable everything.

I used to use MSConfig when it was just the list of programs
starting up and then a way to stop them. Well now it still gives you the
list but then it says either enable all or disable all.

Different program here. People are talking about Windows Explorer, now called file browser on Windows 10. You are referring to Internet Explorer, which is not actually being talked about here, so the Firefox comparison is invalid.

It could be that the so called screenreader is some kind of self voicing interface written similar to the way SpeakOn works.

Hi all portable ccleaner users.

Here is the updated ini file if you don't want to bother with it.

https://www.dropbox.com/s/m15toyhbsmdy5fb/ccleaner.ini?dl=1

For those that want to know what is changed.

options/privacy needs to be reset because the preffs string is different.

The only other thing I have done is clear out the version strings that
existed in there and rebuilt the ics program version string data.

For all the rest, while you can get the slim installer now I have
portable it just works.

Things that have been changed include fixing the privacy setting issues
with extra info added for that option including more datashheets for it.

The adjusting of the monitering so it says smart cleaning instead to
explain what it does.

If you turn off smart cleaning ccleaner shouldn't stay loaded at startup
anymore.

There is supposed to be a checkbox revamp and some more descriptions but
I have yet to see any change, and to be honest now that I can use
portable easily enough I don't know if I will ever go back to installed
ever again.

Re: ccleaner new version

Kevin <kleeva5@...>

It is very simple not to install Avast when installing CCleaner.  When first launching CCleaner installer, each time jaws announces something arrow up and dow a lot you will hit the check box to install Avast.  It’s there don’t say it’s hidden, you just gotta be careful!

By unwanted they mean avast anti virus, usually a couple of hours after you

installed ccleaner. Then you need avastclear to get rid of it so it does not

self install again later after you uninstall it.

Only use the portable version or the slim version.  The other versions are

likely to install unwanted programs in additional to the actual software.

Can you please provide a link to the latest portable version? I tried

Googling it and there were several links there, but I tried them all and

none of them seemed to work.  I found the download button but when I

activate it it just clicks and shows a screen shot of the Ccleaner

itself but no download occurred on any of those links I found.

Thanks.

Roger

Re: Burning cd-disks using NVDA

Are you using File Explorer or another dedicated utility such as CD Burner XP (which is current through Windows 10), Anyburn, etc?

Re: Merging and autoducking 2 tracks in Audacity

Claire,

You need to explain more clearly what you mean by "only gives me one track at a time."  You should be able to open as many tracks as you wish from the Tracks menu or File Menu for pre-recorded material and then work on each of them relative to the others, as in being able to slide the voice part to wherever in the section of music you want it to start, and to apply filters to each.

Burning cd-disks using NVDA

Arnþór Helgason

I have had constant problams with burning cd-disks since Windows 2010.
I seem to be able to copy files to the entitle place but the burning doesn't start.
Any advices?

Re: ccleaner new version

Below is the link for the enhancer file, which will allow more cleaning options and otherwise. It should work on portable versions. I've also included a link to Puran Utilities, an accessible revo uninstaller alternative. Puran is not portable. I believe it is open source though? Not sure. Puran is also like a system mechanic, but accessible. It hasn't been updated in a while though, but I have yet to find a program as good.

Claire Potter <claire.potter99@...>

Hi, the problem I have is that Audacity only gives me one track at a time,
so when I go to open both tracks I am only presented with one track at a
time, so I can't actually move the tracks at all.
