Dear Rose Marie et al & List:

I heard Hadley dropped their Medical Transcription course as it was unaccredited as well as low enrolment & dated.

Hi, Brian,

This is great to know. I used to be a medical transcriber years ago and Hadley used to have a medical transcription course years ago but they canceled it.

Dear all.
I am going to tell you about a very little difficulty on NVDA.
as you all know, while using JAWS, pressing the / "slash" key
navigates us around on different clickables in webpages. clickables
are kind of important these days. but there's no key defined for NVDA
to locate clickables on wepages. I think this can't be done by
developping a new addon. it should be developped by main NVDA
designers and programmers.
thanks again.
I hope they will read this mail and assign a key for clickables. /
"slash" seems to be fine.
take care.

Re: questions about .pdf forms

Dale Leavens

The problem when using modern word processors is the variability of font size and spacing. You need to be certain that edits will match both for appearance and accurate location.

Several decades ago using a CP/M computer I purchased a strip of plastic with tractor feeds on each side into which I could fit a sheet of paper, specifically intended for computer filling pre-printed paper forms.

You started by printing a grid of numbers and lines for cell and row positioning over the blank form then set up a form in the word processor and specifying X and Y coordinates. This worked when the character positions war 80 across the line but would be a bit more difficult to achieve today depending on the pitch of the font being used

Still, there may be something in this which you could use to locate the input fields you require for the form.

Cheers.

I think your best bet here is to:

a) post a link to the sample forms you're talking about so we can see them
for ourselves, rather than guessing how they may have been set up

b) fill in such a form and post the results (or a link to the results; I
can't remember whether this list accepts attachments or not), so we can let
you know what we can see and what we can't

c) get a sighted person (and there are some on this list) to tell you what
they can see (and what they can't) in the final result, which I guess is
what you're mostly interested in, when it finally comes down to it.

is written by us. If others need to take a look at this, I'll put a link
to it on Dropbox to be accessed.

Again, I'm curious to know if the sample content can be seen by anyone
else, other than us. If it can be, that's a big problem. It could be that
there is something I don't understand about working with these types of
forms. I guess I need an explanation of how these templates work, and what
happens when you edit one. Does the reader see only what you want them to
see, and not the template text? I pray this is clear enough. If not, ask
questions, and I'll do my best to answer.

No. When someone sends a new message by hijacking an existing thread and deleting all traces of the previous thread is still an incorrect way to send a new message. There's information in the headers which keeps it associated with the original thread. The only way to send a new message to the list is by sending a new message to the list address.

Hi All,
I am no computer whiz, and I would appreciate, those of you who are,
to take a look at the www.spreely.com social network to see what can
be done from our end to make the sight more accessible. These are
some of the issues I encountered so far: Links do not open right
away; Editing to comment or post are very difficult as the voice
becomes silent and the cursor tends to get stuck; Difficult to
locate received comments and notifications; The developers Marc and
Terry will also appreciate receiving your experts feedback. Many
thanks Blessings Pascal

If you think its coming from that specific program then try setting
it not to start on logon see fi that fixes it

If it fixes the issue then reinstall the program see if that fixes

Otherwise the error is to generic to be certain what is causing it

Good luck

Hey all. I'm writing in hopes that somebody knows where this is
coming from. It's possible it's NVDA but I doubt it. I updated
Windows to 1809 and everything works fine. But every time I boot up, I get this error.

"Could not load file or assembly 'MOM.Implementation' or one of its
dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified."

Anybody know where this is from, and more importantly, how to fix
it? I suspected TWBlue but I just quit and ran it again, and the
error didn't show up. Oh yeah, I'm running NVDA 2018.4-RC1 on 64-bit Windows.

questions about .pdf forms

Hello list. I have a few questions about editing.pdf forms. We have downloaded a few sample thank you letters for our use. They are in .pdf format, and appear to be very accessible. One thing we are not sure of is if the previous sample content shows up when we either send the letter to someone or print it out to be sent. We see what was there before, when we are not in focus mode. When we go into focus mode, we are seeing only what is written by us. If others need to take a look at this, I’ll put a link to it on Dropbox to be accessed.

Again, I’m curious to know if the sample content can be seen by anyone else, other than us. If it can be, that’s a big problem. It could be that there is something I don’t understand about working with these types of forms. I guess I need an explanation of how these templates work, and what happens when you edit one. Does the reader see only what you want them to see, and not the template text? I pray this is clear enough. If not, ask questions, and I’ll do my best to answer.
