Hi all. NVDA let me continue with the school. Thanks to NVDA, I can connect to my virtual classes by Zoom and a platform of education in Ecuador called Runachay. Also, I continue help to the blind people, learn to use Reaper with Osara and learn the use of midi files. I have a composition recorded with Reaper and virtual instruments of Hipersonic, with help of NVDA, Osara and js Be Smart that add an accessible control of effects and change the bank of sounds.

Re: How has NVDA benefitted you during the pandemic
Gerardo Corripio
Having had the opportunity to try the competition (the shark during the pademic), one really values how far NVDA has come! Always evolving; lot less light on my Laptop than the competition. All functions are available, independently of in Spanish, or english, via the AddOns, and those functions that are in NVDA’s core, which the Shark isn’t able to accomplish.
toggle quoted messageShow quoted text
Someone who uses windows10 with the Shark, would get the false idea that windows10 is inaccessible; whereas with NVDA, one gets a totally different picture of the true accessibility of windows10, of course, in conjunction with NVDA’s Windows10 Essentials, and other AddOns that make Windows10 a joy to use! thanks to the Zoom Enhancement AddOn, goldWave AddOn, and others, I feel as if I were using e computer at the same level as the sighted. Keep up the great work! though I am unable at this time to donate monitarily, but by spreading the word among the Latinamerican NVDA comunity via Whatsapp, Facebook, Email and other social media, I feel I’m putting my grain of sand in making more and more people aware of what they’re losing out by not giving NVDA a chance. Hi Quentin. The main factor which influences me to choose NVDA
is that it doesn't take as much computer resources as Jaws does.
This enables me to use NVDA more for intensive computer work like
Music production and Games development with the Reaper DAW and
IDES like Visual Studio and Visual Studio Code, and especially
with Android Studio. Thanks to the NVDA team for all your hard
work and dedication in constantly improving NVDA, and all the
benifit of the Blind community. Cheers! on 22/9/2020 6:53 am, Cearbhall O'Meadhra wrote:

I want to be sure we are talking about the same thing. I am not assuming you are doing this, but I want to avoid any possibility of miscommunication. I want to be sure you are talking about the task bar, not the system tray. If the task bar, have you tried alt tabbing as a work around? If the system tray, have you tried the system tray dialog, available as an NVDA add-on as a workaround?

As it requires a full system reboot to fix, I can't ignore it any more and I'll attempt to describe it now. When using the arrow keys to cycle through the tabs on the task bar, the navigation is typically fluid. In other words, I don't have to listen to the full tab label before hitting a left or right arrow key to read the next tab. Well, occasionally, with no rhyme or reason or pattern which I can detect, NVDA will stop speech interupt when navigating through the tabs, so every time I hit an arrow key, I hear the _entire_ task bar's contents repeated back to me. Restarting NVDA does not fix this, only a reboot of my entire system. I am running Windows 10, and it just happened on my pc which is using about 3.4 out of 32 available RAM. I hope I'm describing the behavior of NVDA sufficiently, but if I'm not, I welcome questions. Rebooting my machine every few days is pretty inconvenient, especially since Windows Updates already make me do this at least once a week. I tried searching for someone having brought this up in the past, but I failed finding anything. Thanks in advance for any help. Gary

Spelling corrections not displayed when composing a message in Microsoft teams for windows
Luke Robinett
Hi folks,
When I am typing a message in Microsoft teams, NVDA announces misspelled words, as expected, but when I hit the right windows key to get the Context menu, I don’t get any spelling suggestions like I would in other Microsoft apps. I will say I attempted this same thing with narrator and encountered the same problem, so it might be an issue with Teams. Just thought I’d see if anyone else has experienced this and if there are any workarounds. Thanks.

I’ve said before how NVDA. Is the best screen reader I know. During this pandemic I can go to tech classes using it. I’m learning how to use Zoom and Teams. Sometimes I run into glitches, but I don’t think this is due to NVDA. I’m trying to learn how to get around those glitches so I can use these programs more smoothly. The 1 core voices are fantastic. Some people perefer eloquence, but I get retired of its inflection.
