I'm not doubting it's there for you.  What I'm saying is that it's not there by default, and that you did something, at some point in the past, that causes this to appear.

The only two items in the Accessibility options on my machine, and also on my partner's (and I know he's never touched anything with regard to advanced Chrome settings) are Captions and Add accessibility features - open Chrome web store.  His machine is running exactly the same version of Chrome as mine is, and both report Chrome being up to date with regard to version after doing a check.

I wrote the last step incorrectly, but that's what I meant. I meant NVDA Space to turn on browse mode again but I wrote NVDA a instead. I'm glad you caught the error. I check my messages before I send them but sometimes I don't catch something even when I read it again.

Hi gene

When it is turned on in google it will do it for the whole page.

it might take a little time to know what they are but is pretty quick.

I used it on tvnz on demand to know what the shows/movies were as these were un labled graphics.

After it was done I jumped down by graphics and I knew what they all were pretty much.

Worth turning on if you have a the google browser.

Hi

if using google chrome do the following and it can also be done in the settings  part.

The easiest way is use the applications key while on a web page then arrow down to get image descriptions from google there is a sub menu that comes off it one is for once and the other is always/

Pick the always one then press the enter key. It will give you a message saying what ever some thing likeit it will need to be sent to google any how just say yes to the pop up and then after that most un labled graphics will be spoken out.

it can also be reversed by turning it off but you will not.

I used it on tvnz on demand to read out all the un labled graphics for the show/movies there and works a treat.

Turn it off none of the show/movies are spoken out.

In this case I had to jump down by graphics to know what they were. as if I just done it by link it just said new episode.

It does not work on every graphic but does a very good job cconsidering AI is used I am told.

Try Silenzio. It’s a small utility that generates inaudible signals to keep speakers sound cards from timing out when there is no signal, as some do. It will probably solve the Blue Tooth time out problem as well.

Try running the setup file and then if there is anything else to do, such as run the installed utility, do so. Let us know if there are problems or if you have questions.
To read a little about it, perhaps containing mor exact instructions, I haven't read the material, go to this page and you will see a discussion of the timeout problems and various solutions, including this one.

Hello folks,

I normally don't write to the list here but I am running across something that is driving me mad.

So, I use hearing aides by Phonak. I have the Phonak CommPilot, a bluetooth audio device that transmits audio from say, my iPhone, directly into my hearing aides, connected to the laptop.

To be blunt, if I want to use my computer, at all, I have to have something streaming, be in a music file or something else. Otherwise, my bluetooth device kicks in... irratically. For some reason, it seems to start,, then stop sending audio immediately after I press a key, kick in again, then cut out as soon as NVDA stops speaking. I have Tony's Bluettoth addon on and running, and I have its standby time at a minute, but is having no affect whatsoever.

Can anyone help?

Not if browse mode is on. If you turn browse mode off, the formatting of the web page will be retained. Use NVDA space bar to turn off browse mode, then use control a. then turn browse mode on again with NVDA a.

"Select all and Copy" in Firefox is just an implementation of CTRL+A followed by CTRL+C.

I just used the "manual way" in Chrome, pasted the result into MS-Word, and all formatting is retained.

Re: Reading Graphics with NVDA

At the moment, I don't know if you can.  There had been an NVDA Add-On for this purpose that "went dead" a couple of months ago.  I have e-mailed its developer and never heard back.

There was also the hope that an improved version which was in the works might appear on the Add-Ons page once it went through the necessary vetting process.  That has not, as of yet, occurred.
