First of all, your NVDA key is either INSERT or CAPS LOCK, depending on how you have NVDA setup.  So, to set your log level:
1) Press NVDA+control+g to open the general settings
2) Press TAB until the focus is on 'Log level'
3) Press DOWN ARROW to get to 'Debug'
4) Press ENTER to close settings
5) Press NVDA+control+c to save settings.

To restart NVDA with add-ons disabled:
1) Press NVDA+Q
2) Down arrow to 'Restart with add-ons disabled'
3) Press ENTER

Next, recreate the issue - do whatever causes problems.

To get NVDA's log after that, there are several ways:

If NVDA is still running and usable:
1) Press NVDA+F1 to open the log viewer
2) Press CONTROL+A to select all.
3) Press CONTROL+C to copy.
4) Open your email and start a message to info@..., type a little about what you have done and what has happened in the body of the message, then leave a space and:
5) Press CONTROL+V to paste the copied log.

Instead of using the log viewer, or if NVDA has stopped and you needed to restart it or the computer:
1) Press WINDOWS+R to open Windows' Run dialog
2) Type %temp% and press ENTER (that's the percent sign, the letter t e m p and another percent sign).  Windows Explorer should open to the temporary folder.
3) Press TAB to move to the file list
4) Press N and move down to find up to three files:  nvda.log (the log file for the current or most recent NVDA session), nvda-old.og (the log from the previous session) and nvda-crash.dmp (a crash dump with more information created if NVDA itself crashes).
5) Depending on what email program you use, the steps will be different, but attach as many of those three files to an email to info@... as will be useful, and again in the body of the message describe a bit about what has happened.

You have a bunch of add-ons running there, if you restart NVDA without them does it make a difference?

Any hint to read YouTube (and perhaps other) subtitles?

Alexandre Alves Toco

Hi friends.

I noticed that, if I check the option to include automatically generated subtitles, nvda will read the subtitles of the vídeo.

How ever, it reads the same thing over and over again.

Suppose that the vídeo has the sentence: last year I was visiting france.

Nvda is Reading as follows:

Last

Last year

Last year I

Last year I was

Is there any hint to make nvda to read the complete sentence only once?

Both the Android Accessibility and PhonesForTheBlind groups on Groups.io would be far better places to ask this question.

As this is entirely off-topic here, and there are venues where it's dead on-topic and would get the attention it needs, this topic is now locked.

Hi good people:
This is not an NVDA issue, but I connect my phone to my PC using the
NVDA screen reader.
Please does anyone use an Android phone made in China, which comes in
the Chinese language.
I actually have an Android phone, made in China. The original language
is Chinese. I had to get sighted assistance to change the system
language from Chinese to English.
Unfortunately, I didn't know it is a Chinese phone when it was ordered
for. I purchased it online.
I'm having problems with the phone, and I now want to do a factory reset.
Is it possible for one to do the reset independently on one's own. How
can I change the system language when there is no speech.
and one cannot see the screen.
Looking forward to reading a response.
Ibrahim.

On the off chance this might be somehow pertinent, in your message to the group all of the text except for your signature is right justified, which is really odd.  I don't know if the setting that's causing this might be somehow related to the issue that you are having.

Hi diana,

  1. Yes its behave like this connected to usb and Bluetooth.
  2.  The symbols are written just fine in other languages.
  3. Hybrid mode is on.
  4. There is not an option for Hebrew code on Hebrew, just computer braille.
  5. Its not a recent problem, its work like this always.

About the panning buttons and the cursor routing keys, I have this problem as well.

Strange.

Ok, your issue poses many question:

1. Does the QBraille behave this way connected with both USB and Bluetooth?

2. Does punctuation work in other languages?

3. Do you have Hybrid Mode on?

4. Are you working in the Hebrew braille code or computer braille?

5.  If Hebrew, have you tried computer braille?

6. Has it always worked this way or only a recent problem?

7. If you are connected through Bluetooth, have you paired both the display and the screen reader separately? If you are using USB, that I know this isn't necessary.

I am having issues with my QBraille too, and JAWS, but it works fine in USB, not in Bluetooth. In Bluetooth, the cursor routing buttons and panning buttons are inoperative. I've been told it's the version of Windows I'm using, but I don't believe this because these issues started long before the current windows version, and apparently, though I haven't tested it yet, it works fine with NVDA.

This is sad, because I love the QBraille but was hoping to be able to connect with Bluetooth.

Diana

Hi list,

I have QBraille XL from Hims, and so far its cool device!

But I have problems with NVDA and other screen readers.

When I'm trying to type on the perkins keyboard in Hebrew, its does write the letters and numbers, but its doesn't write the symbols like comma, full stop, question mark and so on.

In the display's notepad for example its working just fine, all the symbols are written correctly.

So its not related to the display itself, its related to the screen reader.

Any help is appreciated.
