Doing a folder is not hard, but if one is expecting a folder to be made, you don't write one in.
There lies the problem.

hi

Depending how your computer is done some times the d: drive will be
where your  dvd drive will be on some computers it is where there is a
copy of windows that you can reinstall again from..
Or it could be another hard drive on the computer which is used as a backup.

Doing a folder is not hard any how plus it keeps it tidier.

Re: Beware next snaps for a few days.

Well I had this with winamp.

I'd update it, then it wouldn't start.

WIndows would want me to send a report to microsoft all the time.

If I turned error reporting I got a nice error and then things would lock up.

So I would start by pulling plugins out, and run winamp with nothing.

It would run.

I then put all output and other plugins in, standard plugins first.

It would run, by degrees I would put in a plugin at a time till I had a problem, I'd then put it somewhere else in another folder I'd keep doing that till I had a folder of unworking plugins by the end of that winamp would start though I would have a folder of unworking plugins that stopped winamp from starting.

Usually it was 1 or 2.

And 99.9% of the time, I could search google for them, and there would always be an update or a discontinuation and a link or simply a link to get rid of a bunch of plugins and replace things with 1 that worked for a lot of things.

Its a thing I miss now.

A modular player, if something crashes, find out what it is and update it with another module.

Re: NVDA compatibility with Sitebuilder

One thing, if you do get wordpress, until I know more you should use the classic editer plugin just in case gutenburg comes out and its not finnished.

Naturally when rumors on tidbits came out I went to wordpress access who had always said that it wouldn't come out till it was ready.

However just in case it does, unless classic editer is binned, there is no real need to transition ourself to another engine unless we need to.

Re: NVDA compatibility with Sitebuilder

Well you could always write your site yourself then upload it.

If not, something like wordpress could help you with blogs and a wiki for that.

You can make html documents with ms word though there is a lot of extra added junk added.

Its almost easier to have some html editor with all the functions, then fill in the fields you want.

Simple things obviously any complexed things you would have to do it yourself or extend the editer with plugins etc.

Hi

For as long as i have been using a portable version it has never made a directory called nvda. If the usb stick has no other files it will put all the files needed splattered on the stick as you found out.

I have always made a directory called nvda usually on the usb stick.

But lets say at the moment i have 3 copies of nvda.

the stable version makes it own directory.

The other 2 i made a directory called master snap shots and another directory called next snap shots of which i test them when those files for those snapshots have been put into them.

this way it is not confusing for me to tell which is which in the folders.

It would be a pane  if it done nvda for each directory on the c: drive it would either over write it or one would be called nvda 2 or some thing.

It is much tidier making a directory called nvda on a usb stick and then you can have other directories for other files and keep them tidy.

the new process in the up coming release for updating the portable is much nicer 2 basically when you go to update it from off the usb stick you are using it will download it to your usb stick then update over the top of it  which it did not do before. it is in the next release coming out unless you have 2018.2 rc2 you can try it now.

Does chrome not have a user agent like in safari? I can render things in safari but make the website think it was fire fox, chrome etc. Yeh things do look a lot different in firefox   version of facebook. Buttons where links were, etc and links where buttons used to be. It's much more easier  to use.

nvda.exe - System Error graphic 636

The program can't start because graphic 775  api-ms-win-core-rtlsupport-l1-2-0.dll is missing from your

computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.

OK

I’d rather not reinstall the program.

Thanks for any info.
