I can confirm that. I got an update today to. So I must be on the master branch not next. Oh well. I might join next if I can figure out again where to go to do that at some point.

I believe someone posted this on this list some time back and I saved it. Never tried it, but I'd make sure someone with sight was around the first time I try it.
Hi all,
You can reboot in to safe mode by doing the following:
press windows plus r and type
msconfig and hit inter
press ctrl plus tab to get to the "boot tab"
tab to "safe boot" and check the check mark
tab to "base video" and check it as well.
tab to the OK button and press it, you'd get a prompt to restart
computer to apply changes,
if you select "restart now" your PC should restart into safe mode.
after finishing your PC job with safe mode, do the same steps above
but this time uncheck the two check marks above for both safeboot, and
base video. and press OK and restart,
your PC will restart to the normal mode.

I remember it was a registry hack, but narrator should be able to do this
for you now. Don’t ask me how by the way, I am just reporting what I heard
and what I remember.

You can cause blank not to be spoken by using the speech dictionary in
NVDA. I don't know how much information you need. do you know how to
use the dictionary? Put the word blank in the field where you place the
original item. Then type a space in the pronounced as field.
But if you do this, the word blank will never be spoken anywhere.

If I have my NVDA coming out of  my speakers

And I am  listening to music through my blue tooth headset

Soon as I switch over my Bluetooth headset to  NVDA I lose all sound

As of release 18 I have been having issues pushing NVDA output to my Bluetooth headphones on my Windows 10 laptop. All audio output from the laptop is successfully sent to the headset (including JAWS output) except for NVDA which plays from the laptop speakers. Interestingly enough, when I toggle the earphones off the audio stops playing on the desktop.

Has anyone else experienced a similar issue?

If you can't line up properly when in forms mode, then this is a firefox problem because when not in browse mode, you are interacting directly with the page.

Also, your problem may be that JAWS isn't lining up what is in the buffer with the actual control you want to work with.  Try the following:

Press the left mouse button instead of enter.  Don't route anything or change to any other cursor than the virtual PC cursor.  Just press the left mouse button instead of enter.

 

I have one or two other suggestions that might help but if this one solves the problem, trying the others won't be necessary.

their defense, I get totally that they're trying, but I wonder how much
of this is really VFO breaking things, vs. how much is Mozilla breaking
things. I'm inclined to think more the ladder.

I'm admittedly not the biggest fan of Chrome on the Windows platform,
maybe on Android, and on the mac, but not Windows. I'm not totally sure
why, but yeah... It's not something I can put my finger on. I just don't
care for it.

Anyway, I'd be curious if any of you all have seen this behavior as
well. I'm told that supposedly, I'm not the only one experiencing this.

If you are seeing this behavior with NVDA and JAWS, it sounds as though Firefox isn't allowing the buffer to line up properly or to work properly with the control you are working with in the buffor.  Go to the control you want to work with, turn off the virtual PC cursor or browse mode, and read the current line to see where you are.  If you are in the right place, work with the control and see what happens.  If you want to move to the control, try doing so and work with it. 

 

There is almost no difference browsing between Firefox and Chrome.  If you explain specifically what you object to or have problems with, we might be able to help with the Chrome problems.

 

If it is too cumbersome to work with Firefox until the problem is corrected, itmight be worth trying to see what you object to in Chrome and how we might lessen or remove the problems.
