Re: ccleaner new version

Clare Page <clare.page@...>

Hi!
Thanks for the info below about CCleaner 5.46, with the Dropbox link to the new .ini file.
Talking of links, would it be possible to post one here where we can easily get the portable version of CCleaner, please? When my current portable version tells me there is an update, I'm taken to the Piriform site when I hit the "yes" button, and I can't find a download link for portable CCleaner there. Doing a Google search brings up different results every time, and the sites in the Google search results can be confusing anyway.
Thanks in advance for your reply.
Bye for now!

Hi all portable ccleaner users.

Here is the updated ini file if you don't want to bother with it.

https://www.dropbox.com/s/m15toyhbsmdy5fb/ccleaner.ini?dl=1

For those that want to know what is changed.

options/privacy needs to be reset because the preffs string is different.

The only other thing I have done is clear out the version strings that
existed in there and rebuilt the ics program version string data.

For all the rest, while you can get the slim installer now I have
portable it just works.

Things that have been changed include fixing the privacy setting issues
with extra info added for that option including more datashheets for it.

The adjusting of the monitering so it says smart cleaning instead to
explain what it does.

If you turn off smart cleaning ccleaner shouldn't stay loaded at startup
anymore.

There is supposed to be a checkbox revamp and some more descriptions but
I have yet to see any change, and to be honest now that I can use
portable easily enough I don't know if I will ever go back to installed
ever again.

Hello list. It now appears that Facebook is using a new captcha to prove your account isn't spam. It's not the easiest thing in the world to solve captchas at this time. I'm not willing to run an older version of a browser to do so.

Another thing is that Facebook should make this test possible for the blind to pass without much hassle. Has anyone else seen this new test pop up? These things say we're not human because we can't read or solve a picture puzzle. How ridiculous!!!

I hate to be the barer of bad news, but with continued deregulation of
the Internet and an absolute abandonment of accessibility in education

The daft thing is that I have seen well heard many demos of spammer cloud based cap char solvers used by said spammers and to me the only true way to avoid spam is some clever questions or an email authentication system. A blind programmer made a pre configured version of the free and open source Miranda NG IM Client for windows. You can even now add discord to the list of IM accounts. Settings have been configured to work best with NVDA, not JAWS. Sorry JAWS users! But I am sure you can change some settings and stuff. Anyway, the download link is below. This link will expire in 7 days. I'd love it if the official Miranda NG crew agreed to host this on their page. But anyway, one thing though, when it starts, it will ask for an update. Be sure to update everything because if you don't, a lot of plugins and accounts, including skype, will not work. The skype account only supports text chat, basically everything except calling.

Good job, governor Staten!

I wish I had the passion you do about accessibility!

Wow, I needed you as my advocate when I had this job!

Right on!

Hi Group,

I hate to be the barer of bad news, but with continued deregulation of the Internet and an absolute abandonment of accessibility in education by the  current crowd in Washington, I think more and more, such appeals will fall on  deaf ears.  We're simply too small a market to justify the resources to create such accessibility instruments.

Why is there no alternative given to make it possible for the blind to solve this captcha, therefore proving that we are not a spam account, and also proving we are human? Why is it that not being able to solve a purely visual construct makes us not human? It is honestly quite degrading to have it implied that because I cannot solve this captcha that I could be considered a spam account and not a real human being, the same human being who is writing this email to you. This issue is urgent and must be solved immediately!!!

Someone that is as dedicated to accessibility as your organization evidently is should not be making such errors as the one mentioned above. There are a few ways in which this can be solved. For instance, an audio captcha, or asking a question that we can then answer, proving we are human. One more way that I have just contemplated is to use the code generator to provide the answer to the captcha. Have a mode in which it provides these answers if you are blind and/or visually impaired. I'm sure there are other quite inventive ways I haven't yet thought of that could be used as well.

This is all to say that something must be done at your soonest opportunity to do so. I hope that this is not long languishing in a pile that is not urgent or not looked at."

Hello list. It now appears that Facebook is using a new captcha to prove
your account isn't spam. It's not the easiest thing in the world to
solve captchas at this time. I'm not willing to run an older version of
a browser to do so.

Another thing is that Facebook should make this test possible for the
blind to pass without much hassle. Has anyone else seen this new test
pop up? These things say we're not human because we can't read or solve
a picture puzzle. How ridiculous!!!

Ok, it baasically will not let me update, or maybe I don't know how.
I removed everything having to do with miranda from the pc, then got your file.
Install went ok. But now when I start miranda it says:

this is an old daatabase no longer used, click yes to change to new format.

so I click yes.
then it says:

cannot read default.dat. it is inaccessible or is being used by another app or instance of miranda.

I am very new to windows. What should I do now?
And thanks.

I could use dropbox but I change my dropbox around so often no doubt I would delete it forgetting it is a shared file. All versions of Miranda NG should be completely uninstalled before installing this version. The old link is below but it no longer works. When you install this blind version, be sure to update because it is a slightly older version! I can't stress this enough. If you don't update, FaceBook won't work, Twitter won't work, discord won't work. My email is below, as well. Write to me.

ccleaner new version

Hi all portable ccleaner users.

Here is the updated ini file if you don't want to bother with it.

https://www.dropbox.com/s/m15toyhbsmdy5fb/ccleaner.ini?dl=1

For those that want to know what is changed.

options/privacy needs to be reset because the preffs string is different.

The only other thing I have done is clear out the version strings that existed in there and rebuilt the ics program version string data.

For all the rest, while you can get the slim installer now I have portable it just works.

Things that have been changed include fixing the privacy setting issues with extra info added for that option including more datashheets for it.

The adjusting of the monitering so it says smart cleaning instead to explain what it does.

If you turn off smart cleaning ccleaner shouldn't stay loaded at startup anymore.

There is supposed to be a checkbox revamp and some more descriptions but I have yet to see any change, and to be honest now that I can use portable easily enough I don't know if I will ever go back to installed ever again.
