Hi Group,

This is quite bad.I tried reinstalling NVDA 2018.3 and still have
immediate crash upon trying to access any page in Firefox. I save
pages locally for future reference such as football and baseball recaps
and such. Even when trying to load those pages stored locally, Firefox
crashes immediately. I have never had any issues with Firefox quantum
or any latest updates thereof until NVDA 2018.3.

to press NVDA+q then down arrow to "restart with addons disabled" and
press enter.

For now, we recommend staying with NVDA 2018.2.1 if you need to use NVDA Remote.

The problem of course is running out of keys that are simple to use. Often key sequences are allocated already and changing them in the middle of a products life is going to confuse people more than needed. I'm mot making excuses, merely saying why i often see strange combinations, but when you go back in history you see why.

Hi Gene

I thought that there is a short way or what is called on-fly method
like with jaws.

You are right that this is cumbersome.

I think that nvda developers or those designing addons should come up
with the simpler method activated by a key command.

Thanks though for your assistance.

Control NVDA key v. Then tab once. Right arrow to increase speed, left
arrow to decrease speed. Page up and down changes the speed by larger
increments.

How does one lower or speed the rate of nvda?

That is, how do I make nvda speak slower or faster; what is the key
command?

Thanking you in advance.

Its not officially on their website or in fact twitter, but free-codecs has published a page on winamp 5.8 beta, indicating that v6 will be out later this year.

I don't know how these guys get the information before others do and while I havn't downloaded this version since its not official as such its worth mentioning anyway.

Oh, is that bug back again, this happened some versions ago. When will software writers learn not to change things if they actually work?
I have given up on it. There is some program called walta or similar if you just want to move files to and from an I phone and I'd suggest having separate programs for each bit you do in windows as clearly, Itunes has become bloted and is attempting to do far too many things in one place.

Hi folks.

Just thought I'd give iTunes another try.

So, I'm using the snapshot versions of NVDA, RC4.

And the latest version of iTunes.

So if your in your music view, and you have it to show by song,, with the Column Browser enabled, the list that shows, wont read when you down or up arrow.

But I no that its moving, because when i tab to the song the name of the song changes.

anyone else see this?

I too am subscribed by email, and I *never* see a "Reply to Sender" link (or
even reference) on any messages on this list.

I imagine that it's possible that if people are using certain webmail systems,
this may get shown, but I'm simply pointing out that it's not safe to assume
that the way one person sees information *about* emails is the same for
everyone.

Obviously, the content of each message should be seen the same by everyone
(except for the few people I see here who somehow end up posting HTML messages
labelled as plain text, so all some recipients get is a very difficult-to-read
mixture of words and HTML markup tags), but the information *about* messages
(such as what the original sender's address is) is much more controlled by
your own email client or other method of reading the messages, and therefore
cannot be assumed to be the same for everyone.

At the end of each and every individual message you receive from groups.io
there is a link, "Reply to Sender," that will allow you to initiate
off-list contact with the person who wrote the message.

It is a mailto link that gets handed to your e-mail client and will
automatically populate the To field with the e-mail address and the subject
with, "Private:," followed by the title of the original message on the
group.

Consistent with my issue with Firefox crashing while NVDA 2018.3 is running, here is my Firefox crash report.  It mentions all kinds of details involving NVDA paths and items that I am not technologically sophisticated enough to make head nor tail of. If you open Firefox and go to the address bar (alt+d) and type:

about:crashes

On that page it should have crash IDs.  If you can copy the latest one and send it to me, I can get our contact at Mozilla to have a look.

Regards

Quentin.

Hello Quenton and List,

This is the first time I have reported any issues with NVDA and Firefox, but I do see in 2018.3 a major and terrible issue.  Every time I run and after using the dialogue to type in a new address or using the bookmarks in Firefox latest version, Firefox crashes.  This is consistent and absolute.  I did restart Firefox, the computer and then tried NVDA with all add-ons disabled.  Nothing solved the problem.  This is certainly a show stopper.

I am using Windows 10 latest version with a 64 bit 16 GB RAM 8 core Intel system.

Hi Group,

This is quite bad.I tried reinstalling NVDA 2018.3 and still have immediate crash upon trying to access any page in Firefox.   I save pages locally for future reference such as football and baseball recaps and such.  Even when trying to load those pages stored locally, Firefox crashes immediately.  I have never had any issues with Firefox quantum or any latest updates thereof until NVDA 2018.3.

Hi.

Its not officially on their website or in fact twitter, but free-codecs has published a page on winamp 5.8 beta, indicating that v6 will be out later this year.

I don't know how these guys get the information before others do and while I havn't downloaded this version since its not official as such its worth mentioning anyway.

Still use Winamp without any problems and love using Window-eyes with it, find it valuable to have the rate spoken while I change the output volume. I find making playlists on the fly with Winamp easier than anything I've ever done. Love it, very powerful. Will keep using it until it crashes and will upgrade if another version comes down the pike.

Re: winamp interesting news

Well I do wander how they get their information.

The main userid that posts is a thing called flame sounds like a hacker but we will never know.

But the site and its links  to a degree can be trusted, though to be honest I have only used the realtech drivers.

Of note though is that the latest drivers don't have control panels with them, so if you never had control panels even if their access was less to be desired you won't be able to control the card.

Though of late, even with all the dts effects on, the cards even with effects active are not that bad.

Re: winamp interesting news

Well, its not been updated since the 27th september 2016 however I followed it and was allowed in.

I do hope that either they start another twitter or something else.

It will be nice to get the next updated version but I see no reason of not using the 5.66 version of winamp, you can find a lot of plugins about still.

The only plugins I replaced were the midi because the newer versions had issues.

Technically the mp3 one has a security/ crash issue but I found the newer mp3 plugin at least for me crashed more.

That pages direct link is

They actually put up a good historical blurb on winamp and you can get
