Re: Using NVDA with a Twitter Account

That is correct from what I understand it. You’ll still be able to use the native Twitter apps for IOS and android. But yeah the UWP app for WIN 10 or the website itself yes.

Does this effect android apps as well? So, August it sounds like your saying it's the win10 app or nothing on that platform or the web site?
Thanks. Dave.

Yes, normal shutdown doesn't work. The only way I found to continue using my computer without restarting is how I said.

I can't do it because as I've already said my computer have a weird
bug that totally freezes any program and command I try to use. So I
created a shortcut that allows me to be faster than the bug and I
was able to make things right 'til I noticed it.

Also, I believe you need to tell Braille Sense Plus (hopefully with an 8.x firmware) that it needs to be in USB terminal mode, not the disk mode (unless it applies to U2 and later), and double-check that the HIMS driver is installed. Cheers, Joseph

I am Marisane from SA. I've just bought a win10 machine. I've had it for a month now. It's been giving me problems I've not experienced in my life of using windows operating system machines. This win10 machine consumes more data than I can understand. I am contracted to one of SA's network operators (Vodacom). I receive 4 gb (2 gb per day and 2 gb per night). The minute I connect my mobile wifi modem, much data is consumed. What is win10 doing different from what was done by win7? What extra apps are installed/updated? Can I delay the update or will this disadvantage my machine? In other words, will my delaying the update lead my machine to being attacked by viruses? How many times should this data-consuming update happen in a month? What setting do I have to turn off to save data? Your assistance in this regard is appreciated in advance. Marisane

Hi. Just wanted to let you all know if you didn’t know already as of the middle of August we will no longer have access to the 3rd party apps that work with Twitter such as TW Blue etc. So if you are on WIN 10 use the newly improved Twitter UWP app which is accessible. They are changing their API for 3rd party access so if you want to complain to Twitter do so in the appropriate places.

What is the easiest way to "follow" and "unfollow" sources with NVDA. The official Twitter web site merely advises to "hover over the person with your mouse", offering no keyboard option. I am using TW Blue and find no keyboard method of "following" or "unfollowing" a source. Even the applications key fails to offer such an option.

Braillesense plus with NVDA
david@...
Hi,
Using the latest version of NVDA, I'm trying to use my Braillesense plus as a Braille display. I did the following: Connected the Plus using a USB cable to my computer. Select Braille in the options menu. Select HIMS in the list of Braille displays. Selected Automatic from the list of ports Hit the OK button. After a considerable pause, an error message is displayed. What am I getting wrong. I've also tried with Bluetooth with similar results, Many thanks for any help/suggestions, David.

just to add, the application key does offer such options because the first item when you press the applications key is User Actions, which takes you to the meny I've just described.
Hope this helps :) Giles

This is no comfort to you Brian, but I am successfully running Google Backup and Sync on several Windows 10 computers. There has to be something on your particular configuration that is preventing it from running. I don't have anything here to test Windows 7 on, but Backup and Sync should work there as well.

It should just work.Add to that it won't even install on xp without a cryptic error about a missing kernel call or somesuch.
