You could write four-letter words, to be more concise for the smaller Braille display. ;-) Just kidding.

Hi Debra,

Your browser has changed the file extension to ".zip"...
These things happen just with some machines as it seems.
Not you have to unpack the file, make sure that the file extension is .nvda-addon, otherwise rename it, then double click on the file to install it on nvda.
You'll see that after work.

Cheers

I realize that I have another problem.  I uninstalled and earlier version  of Weather plus and now don't know for the life of me how to install weather plus 4.7.  It says to look for a package that has NVDA on it, but I can't find anything.  I downloaded and unzipped it and I can't find any package saying it and NVDa-addon  I read how to install the addon butfirst you have to find it!

    Hi:

For a number of years now, I have been having trouble with the weather Add-in.  It tells me that I am not on line, therefore it cannot look up my Zip Code.  I am using Windows 10 64-bitg.  I think I first got it to work when I was using either windows 7 or 8, but haven't gotten it to work since Windows 10.  Any ideas.  I'm using the latest version.  I don't know why it would think I am not online.

I don't have Any problems w/settings, although you do have to wait
some time for the aplet to load. Arrow keys take you from 1 setting to
the next, enter, then tab brings you to the list of settings in that
particular group which can be modified. The only addons I have
installed are Pico, remote, & TeamTalk classic. I am running the
latest NVDA, though, & Narrator works w/it as well, so I'm wondering
if this is something unique to your system.

Which version of NVDA do you have, and does reopening Settings app fix the problem?

Hi,

Using Windows 10 V1803, I notice that when you tab round in settings now, none of the lists or tabs are voiced by NVDA at all.  I do have App Essentials installed.

Any thoughts?  They are still voiced by JAWS.

Thanks.

Are these settings opened by hitting windows key I? if so, I'm having no issues.

Hi Michael,

They are folks who test pre-release versions of Windows 10 feature updates. I’m one of them (one of the original cohort of Windows Insiders back in 2014), and there are folks here who do test preview builds.

Cheers,

Joseph

Hello,

no, the issue cannot be described in terms of delays. When feedback fails to occur, it will then simply not occur no matter how long I would wait. It is genuinely different behavior rather than just slowed down normal behavior.

Felix

When cursoring up and down, does the selcted item  get said after a delay,
and if so and you hear that, can you then select the file?

I had this with explorer both on windows 7 and 10, and it was the processor
in the  computer actually not running at full speed. It seems on many
laptops the processor is slow to catch up with demand and hence the actual
selection is behind the  one you think it is on, or worse, on nothing at
all!
I'm sure somebody else will respond but I had to go digging into advanced
power management and crank up the idle speed to at least 50 percent, it was
set at 10 percent, before acceptable results occurred.
Of course it could be something else, but this was the reason I found for
most of it. I would have thought that as nvda is hogging one core and hence
stopping the machine using it, Windows ought to sense it and up the speed of
the cores. It seems that this only happens sometimes when more than one core
is maxed out. I guess this might be because nvda is a 32 bit app, not a 64
bit one with  the ability to  push threads though different processor cores.
I'd welcome some more knowledgeable people to comment.
