If you get the braille extender addon, things seem to get better in reloading it if it goes off, and you can set a hotkey to load whichever one you want, plus its got all sorts of other cool features.

Re: Urgently need help (word 2010)
Good morning,
It looks like there are a lot of changes in the document. Basically what happens is when NVDA is added all the annotations to the tree view in the element list (NVDA+f7 dialog), if it takes too long, it times out and doesn't end up adding anything. It looks like that is what is happening here.
You can work around this by, still in Browse mode, moving to each annotation with "a" (shift+a moves back to the previous annotation). You can then bring up the context menu (applications key) to accept or reject each. Kind regards
Quentin.

Re: help, can't get balloon about Win 10 back!
Well, with win10 install disks, you can if you need to download the media creater, and do it that way.
Run it, make the disk, you will have to get help to use f8 to boot to the cd but then control winkey enter will get narator up and you can do all the setup yourself.
As an aside to the user that had the issue with a corrupted profile.
My profile recorupted again today, you should be able to make another easily enough, transfering things to it, well that needs doing and all your settings.
Though I cheated and transfered all my third party apps from the old profile to the new by coppying their appdata to the new profile.
As a further note, I really wish there was a way to repair a profile or prevent it from corrupting in the first place.
I also think that while probably not as secure, the registry has got so full of things not many can understand it.
And if one part of this centralised database fails you are done.

Rui, Thanks much. Given the stature of Freedom Scientific and the number of Braille displays that seem to be included "as shipped" with NVDA I am surprised that those from Freedom Scientific are not among them. For those who might want the focus series drivers, they are available via a download link on this webpage: http://www.freedomscientific.com/Downloads/Focus/FocusBlueBrailleDisplayDriver-- Brian - Windows 10 Home, 64-Bit, Version 1709, Build 16299 (dot level on request - it changes too often to keep in signature)

Re: help, can't get balloon about Win 10 back!
Hi
Should add here that I have no clue what Sarah is talking about
by not accessible.
It is, and has been, accessible for years when using the PE or,
these days, the windows 10 installer dvd.
Even the surface book can be booted from USB by holding down the
volume down key while pressing the power button. Lenovo is f2, if
I remember correctly for anything made after 2013 or so.

Well, since Sarah joined in, and

You can go to:

I have a Windows 10 WinPe that talks,
from another site, but my work network won’t allow me to
either go to that site or send a link to it, as it scans
URLs for wording it does not like.
Anyway, you can put WinPe on a DVD or
USB thumb drive and boot to it and you are in windows.
Not your windows, but WinPe.
You will have Internet access and
lots of utilities.
I’m sure you can scan a drive for
viruses this way too.
You can make an ISO of your C: drive
and put it on another drive and format your drive and either
reinstall Windows, or put the ISO contents back onto the
drive.

Re: Google docs and NVDA and Chrome
Hi! I use it with Chrome all the time. Make sure that you have NVDA in focus mode. You should be able to use all of the navigation commands like arrows, page up and down and so on to read the document. Any type of document can be opened as a Google doc. Once a file opens in Google Docs, it is automatically changed into a Google doc. There is no conversion you need to perform on your own, Google does the conversion by itself. So, a PDF will open as a Google doc, if it is in the Google Docs Window! David Moore Sent from Mail for Windows 10

When I go into the NVDA Preferences menu, Braille Settings there is nothing presented in a rather long list that makes any sense since there isn't a thing for Focus or Freedom Scientific in that list. Is the Focus line of Braille Displays not supported? If it is, what am I doing wrong. By the way, we did shut down NVDA after pairing the device and restarted it and that made no difference. Urgently need help (word 2010)
I’m doing a research, after I sent a draft to my advisor, my advisor send me back the original with the following style of editor revision: insertion, Deletion, property formatted, and comment. I use Word 2010 with the latest version of NVDA, and here is my problem.
- I have two files with the same file format (.docx). - For the two files, the first one, there is no table. but the other one contains only a table with about 28 rolls and 4 columns in each roll, and everything is in the table. - Both have the same style of editor revision (insertion, deletion and comment). - The problem is: when I open both files and list the elements using insert + F7 and choose "annotations", NVDA can list annotations for the file that doesn't have table, but not for the other one.
Below are links for both files.
First file: https://drive.google.com/open?id=10IuAreAsiaMMjWJ7QOoRMURlCRzl7C4a
second file: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1C3HRJmtNSVj_9gK8oxIk6WmbFlENcCE0
Please help me, Thank you.

Re: Google docs and NVDA and Chrome
The first question, at least for me, who knows very
little about Google Docs, (spelling) is whether images can be sent using
it. If this is an image, some way of recognizing the text must be
found.

Re: help, can't get balloon about Win 10 back!
It is still good if you wanted to do other maintenance though, as I mentioned in the past message.
But you would need the Windows 10 WinPe.

I have a Windows 10 WinPe that talks, from another site, but my work network won’t allow me to either go to that site or send a link to it, as it scans URLs
for wording it does not like.
Anyway, you can put WinPe on a DVD or USB thumb drive and boot to it and you are in windows.
Not your windows, but WinPe.
You will have Internet access and lots of utilities.
I’m sure you can scan a drive for viruses this way too.
You can make an ISO of your C: drive and put it on another drive and format your drive and either reinstall Windows, or put the ISO contents back onto the drive.
In my case I just used aira to help me as the process for me is not accessible at all. We got it done in about 5 minutes thanks ssd.

Hello:
Okay! I have read many of your messages on the list about how a disk re-format makes it all good again!
Can you please explain to all of us who are totally blind how to Re-format the hard disk without sighted assistance?
If you can't give specific instructions on the process? Then, don't talk about doing things that require sighted assistance on a list which focuses on how blind users can get things done without sighted help which
is not always available!!!
It's always helpful to give specific instructions on doing tasks. rather than just throwing stuff out there without explaining how its done!
Hopefully this list will go back to being a knowledge base instead of just conjecture!!!

Not always of course, but it depends on the reason for the

This morning, when I booted the system, I got a message in the corner

reserved my copy.
note: at that time, I wasn't connected to wifi, but apparently it still

I wish I could get that balloon back, now that I'm connected just to

Windows 7 is very slow.
What can I do?
Sorry for cross-posting but I felt that was best, since I have both
screen-readers installed, although, Jaws is unlicensed.
Thanks for any help you can provide.

I'd not say 7 is slow. I think we need to know if its always been slow or has slowed, and then discuss why. In my experience when i did dip my toe in the 10 water, a machine which was slow on xp or 7 was equally slow on 10! Not always of course, but it depends on the reason for the slowness, ie processor throttling lack of ram or hard disc fragmentation. often fitting an ssd in a machine seems to miraculously speed it up! Hi, I have a windows 7 laptop, with both Jaws 16, and NVDA 2018.1.1 on it This morning, when I booted the system, I got a message in the corner of my screen, which said, "get windows 10" so I clicked it, and supposedly, reserved my copy. note: at that time, I wasn't connected to wifi, but apparently it still worked. I wish I could get that balloon back, now that I'm connected just to make sure. Windows 7 is very slow.
What can I do? Sorry for cross-posting but I felt that was best, since I have both screen-readers installed, although, Jaws is unlicensed.
Thanks for any help you can provide.
Thanks, Jessica
