Re: Helping to make an Edge/Chrome RSS reader accessible
Amir
Awesome! I can't use the "river of news" format for a wide range of reasons either. Being able to utilize the "feeds list format" is an absolute must, but it is something that apparently only Internet Explorer provides on Windows. Maybe Thunderbird might also be able to do it, but it fails to detect my tree view of feeds and puts all NPR and BBC articles under one single branch without realizing that they belong to separate feeds.
Best, Amir

Looking for newest vocalizer driver
Anne Günther
Hi
I finally updated my nvda. While "Vocalizer" works in general Nvda freezes completely in firefox as well as Thunderbird. I got the link to the driver from a message in this list from Febrauary. So I'm hoping there's a newer version where things work once more fine. regards, Guenni

VPN services accessible with NVDA using Google Chrome or Firefox under Windows 10
Dennis Clark
Hello everyone,
I'm curious to learn which VPN services you have found accessible using NVDA and Google Chrome or Firefox. Three VPN services which have been recomended by sighted users are ExpressVPN, CyberGhost, and NordVPN. Do any of you who actually use NVDA have experience with the accessibility of these particular services. Of course any other VPN services that you have tried that are accessible or unaccessible would also be appreciated. Thanks in advance for your assistance. Dennis

So what happens if you have several feeds from one single website. IsThis is called the river of news format. It's the way most modern RSS readers do things unfortunately. In fact, it makes your RSS reader look more like Twitter, than an RSs reader. I tend to call the better way, the feeds list format." As in there's a list of feeds, and articles from a particular feed are displayed when you click on a feed from that list. OK OK, so that's the more old-fashioned way of doing things, but it works well.

Re: problem with edge
Gary,
I am going to reconstruct your message and put it below. But this is either the second or third message that has come through with the majority of it after your signature line. The other ones were similar, in that your greeting line and the first few words of the first line are fine, then all the words that follow it end up after the dot net in your Sendto line. Reconstructed message: ----------------------- Hi All,

Re: Indicating Spelling Error
Gene
This qquestion assumes that Jarte flags misspelled words in the text. We first need to know if it does. If not, you would be asking for a new feature in general.
toggle quoted messageShow quoted text
It may do so but Jarte is based on Wordpad and Wordpad doesn't do this. Gene

Press f7 in Jarte. Once Jarte stops, Down arrow to the context menu.

You'll see your error. Continued down arrowing shows you other options, including spelling suggestions, as well as ignoring once, all, or adding to dictionary.

Indicating Spelling Error
Rob Hudson
What is the mechanism used by NVDA to indicate a spelling error?
I would like to talk to the folks at Jarte and have them ad something to their program so that NVDA indicates spelling errors just like it does in Word or one of the web browsers.

Re: Helping to make an Edge/Chrome RSS reader accessible
Amir
So what happens if you have several feeds from one single website. Is it possible to place all website-specific feeds under a single branch or tree view? Or will all articles belonging to all feeds be presented together? If the latter, it'll make handling feeds and articles quite cumbersome.
Best, Amir

Re: Few questions regarding the Place Markers add-on
Amir
my tests indicate that the Place Markers add-on cannot extend a mark's functionality to domains. That is, each mark is useful for the page on which it was created. Rather disappointing IMO. Moreover, it tends to lose the position for which it was created if the page undergoes some changes. So, with all respect, it can't match the JAWS Place Marker functionality in its current form.
Cheers, Amir

update on editing with NVDA when writing a comment
Pascal Lambert
Hi, On www.breitbard.com website which uses Discus for comments, NVDA is not reading the comment and when restarted it reads the comment does not allow editing as it does not voice the letters as you navigate with the cursor. I just found this morning that this is happening when using Google Chrome and not Firefox. A week earlier I did not have this problem with Google Chrome either. Any insight is greatly appreciated. Blessings Pascal
