Hello,

I've just seen this message. I'll be happy to test and let ou know if I have any NVDA-specific issues.

Can I post my findings privately, if the thread isn't appropriate for this list?

Thanks, blessings,

Hello:

Thanks for your post.

Actually, my request is strictly NVDA related.  I am the JAWS support person for the Online Bible which works quite well but more & more folks are turning to NVDA for various reasons. So, if a seasoned NVDA user can confirm that NVDA does, or does not, work with the Online Bible, I would greatly appreciate it.

Since both NVDA and the Online Bible are free, it could be a perfect match if it worked since the Online Bible is very extensive in it’s capabilities.

For those who wish to download the program to which Mr. Noseworthy refers, here's the direct download link: http://onlinebible.net/files/install_advance_5.50.00.00.exe

If any commentary not related to NVDA is needed, and it would probably be extensive if the program is either completely inaccessible or completely accessible, either of which can be reported here, or that one needs to use something like object navigation to access it, should occur on the Chat Subgroup.

Hello,

Yes, I agree. The very first versions of the OLB were a joy to use, but then they became more and more complicated, and I eventually gave it up infavour of Youversion on Android.

I miss braille though...

I hadtried it with NVDA, but I admit it was quite some time ago.

I must try this new one, and thanks for sharing the link.

Ciao,

Hi Jim,
I'd need to know which online Bible you're using (Biblica, Bible Gateway
etc). Also, by program, do you mean the website itself, or a separate
program you actually downloaded and installed?

Hello All, your moderator here, and speaking as such.

Please take this topic to the Chat Subgroup, as it has now long ago transitioned into a conversation about how to use either:

1.  Open Audible
2.  Open Audio

and even I'm not certain which.  But it's really not about NVDA in any meaningful sense.  If this does not occur after this request I will lock the topic.

Assuming you are on a Desktop setup, Use NVDA or Numpad Insert+Numpad6

Hi, here's what you do. Go to https://www.native-instruments.com, after going there create an account, after creating an account, you'll be sent a password. please make sure that you put this password on your desktop, so that you can refer back to it when you need to. If you've heard of a software package called reaper, you can use all of native-instruments free software synths as well as their paid offerings in order to create music on your desktop. I hope that this helps.

Hi, if you use the most recent version of nvda, nativeaccess, and windows10 should all work well together.  take note that you may find that if you use nvda together with nativeaccess you may find that you may be able to perform a scan by using insert+r but the problem is that you might not hear the results of the scan once it has completed.

Hi Zarah, I don’t think it will support your older version of NVDA nor your version of windows. I’ve never heard of that program.  Maybe with the new version of NVDA it will probably work. Have you tried this program with Nairator in windows ten?

Hi, how are you?  If you play keyboards and are interested in recording your own music You can use nvda together with a program called reaper.  I'm part of a growing listrwp which stands for reapers without peepers.  Also you can go to native-instruments.com create an account then you'll be able to download nativeaccess.  This program nativeaccess allows you the ability to download free as well as paid instruments that you can use with reaper in order to create music.  I hope that this helps.

Thanks all over the place.

Re: NVDA Skype hot key not working

By the way, something went wrong with Sarah's click-through link.  It was a mismash of the NVDA group address and the Skype English Groups.io main page that shows all of the e-mail addresses for that group.

Here it is, corrected:  Skype English.   It's great to know that there is a venue that's explicitly intended for Skype users who are also screen reader users.

Hi Jim,
I'd need to know which online Bible you're using (Biblica, Bible Gateway
etc). Also, by program, do you mean the website itself, or a separate
program you actually downloaded and installed?
Cheers,
Damien.

hello, there is a hotkey to answer a call it is ctrl plus shift plus p
but remember, it works only when skype is on the front so you have to switch by pressing alt tab to skype and then that key works.

Hi Luke

I know that short cut worked on skype 7 but can not recall it after that There are other versions of skype like the app version found on a windows 10 machine you mostly tab fort that one and the desk top version as well which is 8.4 I think it is.

I use the alt + 1 key I think it is and alt + 2 keys etc mostly and quick navigation keys in this version. It is like the version you are using?

Hi folks,
First time asking a question here so feel free to direct me elsewhere if there’s a more appropriate venue for this topic. I did read the rules for what topics are permitted here and frankly the list of what not to post was lengthy and ambiguous so I’m a tad gun shy, but here goes. Lol.

According to the NVDA user guide, the Windows shortcut key for reviewingmessages in a Skype conversation is NVDA+Control and a numeric key, based on how far back in the message history you want to review. I’m trying that here at work in Skype for Business and I don’t get anything. Has anyone had better luck getting this to work? I can still tab into themessages and use the arrow keys to review messages, so this isn’t a show stopper, but it would be nice to have a faster way of reviewing messages.
Thanks,
Luke

So, I must weight to come Nvda 2019.3.
