Hi Anthony,
It is not a real tutorial, but you can read the
documentation:
nvda menu, preferences, Weather Plus Settings
submenu,Documentation, Weather Plus first settings.html".
You can learn the commands from the file
"Readme.html" or from the file Weather Plus, "nvda menu, tools, Manage
addons... select "Weather Plus" and press "About add-on..."
Cheers

Hi Adriano I just installed the weather plus but I don’t know how to do the settings. If you have a tutorial or you can explain to me how to do it I would be very appreciated. Thanks in advance Anthony

Hi Lisa, Strange... From the preferences menu appears the "Weather Plus Settings" item? What do you see about Weather Plus from tools, manage addons? There must be only "Weather Plus; Status: running; Version: 4.5 15.09.2017". If the status is remove, has not been properly uninstalled. Let me know that I want to understand. Thanks

Hi

I followed your instructions and found the combo box. I noticed it says the box is collapsed, so I pressed spacebar to expand it, waited a few seconds for it to open the list, then was able to use up/down arrows to navigate. It also works with first letter selection. Cheers Chris

After installing NVDA Open Office stopped responding. I have a Dell Inspiron running Windows 10. Also, I can no longer find NVDA on my computer. I donated 15.00 two times and downloaded NVDA. Now it is gone.
What are the solutions?

In this case you can also hit enter to switch to forms mode, and enter again to open the combobox, then use the arrows as normal. It won't go back to browse mode. 2017-09-18 11:49 GMT-03:00 Simone Dal Maso <simone.dalmaso@...>:

Actually, while generally, slow NVDA isn't a problem for me, it does happen when typing comments indo facebook. Otherwise, I have no issues of the sort described. But, since facebook is something I rarely use, I'm not really all that concerned about it. :)

Is the "Use NVDA on the log-on screen" checked? If not, check it and see what comes of it. It is in the preferences menu, general settings submenu. Tab to the very mentioned option and check whether it is checked, as it should be.

Brian's Mail list account <bglists@...>
Well, I think a lot of the problems we see are very niche from their point of view. IE you only encounter them with a screenreader really. If they could make some way to make say all work on a whole file that would be a big start.

Re: how to get the blank lines not to be spoken when using NVDA to read mail in thunderbird?
Travis Siegel <tsiegel@...>
I'm not sure why this question with thunderbird even comes up.
When you press enter on a message, thunderbird automatically reads
the message, there's no need to arrow down or use read to end at
all, it automatically reads when the message opens, and it does it
all by itself, the NVDA support for thunderbird is very good in
that regard. On 9/18/2017 10:10 AM, Gene wrote:

Re: how to get the blank lines not to be spoken when using NVDA to read mail in thunderbird?
Gene
You should use the speak all command, which reads
the entire document until you stop reading with control. I've heard many
people discuss reading e-mails in the past who down arrow through the
message. I've never understood why they do such an innefficient and
unpleasant thing. You can't cause NVDA not to announce blank lines when
down arrowing line by line. It won't announce them when using speak to
end.
If you are using the default desktop keyboard
layout, speak to end is NVDA key down arrow. Use the down arrow on the
main keyboard. You can use either insert.

Re: google chrome and combobox: here is an example when it doesn't work
Gene
Evidently, the problem is that the combo box can't
be opened because you go into browse mode when you try to open it.
What happens if you manually go into forms mmode,
NVDA key space, then try to open the combo box? The same thing may happen
but both methods should be tested.

You press enter, then if you press alt-down arrow keys to open the combobox, you automatically go into browse mode! And if you select an item from the combobox without pressing alt-down arrow, NVDA doesn't tell you the selected item because the combobox is dynamic and change language in a second. > ----- Original Message ----- > *From:* Simone Dal Maso <mailto:simone.dalmaso@...> > *Sent:* Monday, September 18, 2017 6:04 AM > *To:* nvda@nvda.groups.io <mailto:nvda@nvda.groups.io> > *Subject:* [nvda] google chrome and combobox: here is an example when it > doesn't work > > Hello, > this is an old thread but I waited because I want to show an example > when the combobox are not usable with google chrome. > > In the following page, press the c letter until you arrive to "select > language" combobox. > Try to use up and down arrow keys, and use alt-down arrow keys... > For me it is not possible! > > https://www.microsoft.com/it-it/download/details.aspx?id=3 > > > > >
