I think it's because the new wav files are smaller and shorter. The starting
and ending sounds are brief, and don't take nearly a second to play like the
old ones did.

It was. I now have the files. They were in there for one update and that was
it.  It actually felt faster with the new sounds, sounded all star trecky
and stuff. I loved it.

No. The NVDA sounds were changed in a master snap, but then changed back
to default. I would like to find those sounds.

I installed the new update and when I press NVDA+w the wind data is incorrect.  I live in Lawrenceburg Kentucky and it says the wind is East Southeast at 435 mph.

I can promise it isn't blowing that hard. ;-))

I noticed in the latest update that in the English System measurements, the period pronounced in English as dot has been replaced by the comma (,).  For example, the barometric pressure is reading as 29,29 rather than 29.29.

Incidentally, the barometric pressure discrepancies of about .5 MM of mercury is still prevalent and has been without change for a year now.

It'll also depend on which release of Windows 10 you've got.
Until last year, NV Access and others said people should use Edge for pilot
testing purposes. This is no longer the case now: you can use Edge just like
any other browser. You can use first letter navigation, elements list (much
enhanced in the next release of NVDA) and what not.
Regarding JAWS 2018 and Edge: yes and no. JAWS 2018 beta will work with Edge
in Windows 10 Version 1703 (build 15063/Creators Update), but it won't work
properly in Version 1709 (Fall Creators Update). Microsoft and VFO are aware
of this problem and are working hard to resolve issues reported by testers.

Before I managed to blow up my win 10 machine... don't ask.. the latter
seemed faster though I used a master snap of it not the actual release
version at the time. I just did not like Edge myself, preferring Firefox
usability wise.
