caret browsing question?
David Csercsics
Does the "caret browsing" setting in most web browsers help NVDA at all? Just a curiosity. I know you used to apparently need it for Windows mail, but is it recommended for browsing the web?

my github issue solved
Hi.
Ok, I can get access to github. Interestingly, I can only do this on google chrome or edge chromium. Oh and I need to be logged in to clone. Anyway after I find a menu called add file I can then click the code button and get access to things for a zip. If I put .git at the end of a project I can clone in github easily enough. I just wish there was a way to have a classic github mode though, while I often don't need a perminant project sometimes I want to get a look see for the hell of it and don't want to keep it. It can be done, oh well there is microsoft influancing github. On the up side, in some services, microsoft allows github logins and accounts. However I can't find the signin link to github unless I directly go to github/login but then neither can I download skype without going to skype.com/download so whatever.

Well if you guys can leave this issue open till tuesday I may have access to a laptop with the formentioned issue on.

I may get access earlier but for now thats the best I can do. I technically had access to something yesterday but I was so screwed up with a cold I didn't have the energy to get out of bed.

I was not able to replicate that portion of the scenario. Please consider either posting one on the github issue, or sending one privately. Luke

Re: Control Alt N Not Working to Open NVDA
I actually don't bother with this at least with nvda. I do a windows key and r for run and type nvda. Make sure the shortcut is there and just run it. If the properties are not conflicting with something else well. I have seen strangeness with keyboards doing weird things, if its wireless it could be battery related. The ms boards don't seem to tell status, the logitech stuff seems to though.

Also for those having issues on the other list, with office, its a known bug, try running any office program, ie word and updating again. There aparently is a way to get round that. The user with the screwed up install probably has to reinstall his computer completely though. There are 2 bugs according to winaero, and I forget their status.

I have no idea which is the default, as I'm constantly switching which resource I'm looking at depending on whatever issue I suspect I have. The three I use most frequently are CPU, Disk, & Memory. There are tons of tutorials out there on using Task Manager, and it would be worth your while to read one or more if you want to get into all the details. -- Brian - Windows 10 Pro, 64-Bit, Version 1909, Build 18363 Science has become just another voice in the room; it has lost its platform. Ok, I still am unsure what this is supposed to be showing me. Is it the process which is using the most resources, the process at the top of the list, etc?
Thanks.

Ok all, what is it supposed to do? This will also toggle the "More Details" control to a "Fewer Details" control. The toggle keeps between invocations unless you toggle it again, so once you've chosen the "More Details" view, it should stick unless you were to change it back. -- Brian - Windows 10 Pro, 64-Bit, Version 1909, Build 18363 Science has become just another voice in the room; it has lost its platform. Have used ctrl-shift-escape since switching from XP to Windows 10 at home (!). not sure how old the keystroke is but when I replaced Task manager with Process Explorer, the keystroke invoked that as well.
