Which Edge, the one that comes with Windows or the new chrome version? I
have the one that comes with Windows. I could install Chrome I guess, or
use Edge. But considering that Firefox works with everything else, I
don't see why I should have to install/use another browser just for this
one site.

I mean, if that's what I have to do, I will. I'm just saying, I'd like
to know why it doesn't work before I do that, because I can't see any
reason why it shouldn't work. It worked before after all. Thanks for
checking, I'm happy that there's a solution. It just bothers me to throw
up my hands and go, that thing doesn't work, better use something else,
when I can't see why the thing doesn't work. If for instance Edge and
Chrome supported audio playback and Firefox didn't for some reason, OK,
there you go, you have to use another browser. I'm off to check Edge,
seriously, thanks! Huh! I guess it's the new chrome version of Edge,
because I couldn't get it to work with the Edge in 1909 at all. So yeah.
I'd really like to avoid installing a totally new browser for one single
site, if I can help it.

I'm using latest Firefox, 72.0.2, and NVDA 2019.2.1. What I used to
do to make things play on Bandcamp was get to the play button, hit
NVDA-numpad-slash, and then numpad-slash to play. That doesn't work
anymore. Here's the thing I'm trying to check out.

If anybody knows/figures out a way to get these tracks to play, I'd
really appreciate knowing about it. I used to check stuff out all the
time and I can't now. It's really frustrating, especially in a case
like this where the albums are only going to be available for a month
and then disappear. I can't figure out if I want to buy them or not
if I can't hear them.

You will be on the settings option.  Press enter.

You will be in a list of options.

Press o for object presentation.

Tab once to show tool tips and press spacebar to check it.

Hi

Which face book site the main one at http://www.facebook.com or the mobile one at m.facebook.com which is more like a web page but more stripped down compared to the main one.

There is a basic tutorial on how to use the main facebook site at http://www.accessibilitycentral.net/nvda%20tutorials%20for%20other%20programs.html

it is off my website called accessibilitycentral.net

You will need to jump down by headings until you get to the face book tutorials I think there is both a written one and a audio one there that may help.

by the way not sure if it mentions the shortcut but sure it does when I wrote it you can use the nvda key + shift key + space bar to disable single letter navigation in face book. Use the combo again to make it work again.

If you hit the normal keys nvda key and space bar it will go between modes so do not touch those ones unless you want to.

But you need to change between modes to see some sections in face book.

Hope it helps.

Hi Dennis

Out of curiosity were they older versions of those browsers? or were they the latest ones?

As in very old.

I have seen it on my computer where I might  of had a old version of some programs and after a windows update they disappeared it seemed they were not compatible with the new version of windows.

The only fix was to grab the latest copies of them and  install them and it has not done it since.

I have seen icons disappear off the desk top after a major upgrade as well it seemed the only fix was to reinstall them to your pc I have had it not happen to me but have read about it  on some computers.

Josh! I like what windows ten has done to E Speak for NVDA!  I’m happy with it and liking it!  I thought the NVDA developers who created E Speak worked E speak to work better with win ten!  E Speak did improve in win 7.  But win ten made E speak sound even better!  Not worth complaining about.  I just configured E speak to my liking. I don’t need no other voices.  I like what’s there!

You guys are complaining about spending $70 on a voice? I remember when you had to spend $200 or more likely $500 for a good voice like decTalk or keyNote gold. So why are you complaining? If you have windows10, the oneCore voices work excellent and support many languages. ESpeak also sounds good if you set its voice correctly or the way you like it. And that $70 from www.atguys.com gives you both eloquence with all its voices and vocalizer with all of its voices. So $70 is a really really good deal as far as buying voices is concerned.

Hello all,

I have noticed this morning that NVDA no longer reads my emails one line at a time. I can read the whole message from top to bottom using the NVDA key plus down arrow. But can’t get it to speak one line at a time by using the down arrow on its own anymore. This is a nuisance when looking for a link or a specific piece of text within a message. What’s to be done?

I’m using MS Outlook in Office 365, Windows 10 and latest NVDA. The problem may have started after I did a massive clear-out of unwanted emails.

Thanks in advance,

If you use NVDA key space bar to turn it off, it shouldn't turn on again automatically.  Use the same command to turn it on again.  If it still turns on automatically when you are on the same page, there is a setting in browse mode settings, control insert b, to open the dialog.  I don't recall the exact wording, but you should know it when you see it.

When you are on a filename, try right arrowing a number of times and see if you can hear the information as you move.  I am not aware of any way to have that information automatically announced with NVDA.  If you don't hear it announced, we can try changing a view setting to details in Windows Explorer.

All expressive vocalizer users of NVDA, regardless of the reseller, will have to update manually the license, doing the procedure to cancel and reactivate?

I want to cry!

The encriptation and encoding process are different fron python 2 to python 3...

Hello,
if I have to be honest, I'm desperate about just this thing!
I wish that day would never come.
From what I understand, it is necessary to cancel the old activation,
update NVDA and the Vocalizer driver and then reactivate it.
I really hope that things have improved, because if the license is not
renewed automatically, I foresee a disaster. There are many elderly
people who have no idea of their credentials, as long as the
computer speaks. Set it up once and away.
Over the years someone has certainly lost the data, in short, I really
pray to Rui Fontes and the developers

to make renewal of the license as simple as possible.
ps: this message is translated on fly with google translate, hope it is clear.

I’ve several Spanish-speaking friends with legal Tiflotecnia Vocalizer
voices, who when they want to upgrade their’s, it with NVDA2019.3 RC, a
dialogue about verifying license pops up, and I worry that it’ll happen here
at my end when the time comes to upgrade! What is recommended if this
arises?

NVDA no longer reading emails one line at a time

Clive Lever

Clive
