Does anyone know if it is possible to trial this before buying? I’ve emailed the address on the vocalizer-nvda.com website but no response? Any other ideas? Thanks Luke

Re: Free .RTF file creater

Hi Brian and all the "faster than lightning" replies. Think I will try SoftMaker as it has a wordprocessor as well as a spread sheet section. I prefer one app for all instead of different apps. Will try it and report back. My problem with Wordpad is that it doesn't give me a page or word count which is often important to me.

Re: Free .RTF file creater
I use jarte as well. Be aware though when you launch it you will hear "jarte plus." this is normal. You are getting the plus version which is free with a lot of limitation. For example the auto correct feature is not available and some other things, but I love and use this reader, a lot! -- Sarah Alawami, owner of TFFP. . For more info go to our website. You actually have one on your computer. It's called wordpad. Go to run and type "wordpad" sand quotes, and there you go, it should work out for you. -- Sarah Alawami, owner of TFFP. . True about WordPad, which I'd forgotten all about.
Even so, the probability of needing to be able to at least read other word processing file types or PDFs, even if you're not generating them, makes a more general purpose tool worth considering. -- Brian - Windows 10 Pro, 64-Bit, Version 1909, Build 18363 Science has become just another voice in the room; it has lost its platform. There is something called Jarte which I haven't used personally but it is highly recommended by the folks at NVAccess (https://www.jarte.com/).

Re: Recovering an Acapela activation key from unusable computer how’s it done?
Well code factory is ok as long as you lock and unlock your keys.
toggle quoted messageShow quoted text
Its stated you need to do this when you activate its not that hard to do. If it screws atguys or code factory will probably help you reset your count or clear your ids or something. Mind you you may just have to buy more unless that is you use atguys which are always fast.

Re: Minor Problem: NVDA Closing/Exit Sounds Not Being Heard When Exiting NVDA
David Goldfield
I am happy to report that v1.6.3 of the Acapela driver has fixed the problem of the exit sound not being heard when exiting or when restarting NVDA. When I first loaded the Acapela voices there was some noticeable difference in that the pitch sounded very low even though it was set to 50. However, switching to another voice and then back to my preferred voice fixed that glitch, as well.

For those of you who already have NVDA’s Acapela voices, if God forbid I were to be in this situation, but it’s always good to know just in case: how would one recover an activation key (out of the 3 given when purchasing), if the computer on which the license is activated, suddenly dies, without loosin the key in the process, thus being unable to deactivate that machine’s key, through NVDA/Acapela voices/License Management? If I let that key go, when I get the computer repaired and returned back to me and upon activating Acapela again on that same machine especially if he computer needs to be reformatted), I’d e using up Activation Key #2; hence having one left for emmergencies! Is there a website I could go to, and manage my activation keys without depending on the machine on which the key is activated, to deactivate it? I wouldn’t want to loos any activations unnecessarily. Thanks for info.

Re: Focus Issues on Facebook Desktop Site Using Firefox
George McCoy
That doesn't work for me. I face this issue in all Chromium-based browsers, firefox and the old edge.
toggle quoted messageShow quoted text
One thing that helps a bit is to get into the habit of using nvda plus spacebar to turn off focus mode. It almost seems that the escape key is getting through to facebook. If I get stuck in the reactions area, I find that clicking one of the reaction buttons using the spacebar lets me exit focus mode using nvda plus spacebar without zinging off to the bottom of the newsfeed or list of posts in a group. This behavior makes it nearly impossible to use facebook desktop efficiently. George
