Hi all,

A few months ago, I heard about Lyrebird, a future project which would
allow anyone to create a synthetic clone of their own voice. Last night
I found out that it's finally here, in an early beta form. If you go to
http://lyrebird.ai  and create an account, you can then record a minimum
of thirty sentences they specify, the more you record the better, and
then create your digital voice. Then you can have it speak any text you
choose. I've played with it, and while the quality isn't the best, it
does pretty accurately capture my voice, as well as most of the other
people I know of who have created voices. Check it out!

Jayson

I personally find the licence agreement on their website quite unpleasant.

For example: "We hereby grant to you a royalty-free, non-exclusive, non-
transferable, personal use, trial evaluation license to use the Services to
record Your Voice, create your own Digital Voice and create Digital Voice
Messages solely for the purpose of evaluating the functionality of the
Services."

"you hereby grant to us a fully paid, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable,
worldwide, non-exclusive and fully sublicensable right and licence to use,
license, distribute, reproduce, modify, adapt, publicly perform, and publicly
display Your Voice, Digital Voice, Digital Voice Messages, Demo Voice Messages
and any other materials that you create, upload, submit, post or otherwise
make available on the Services"

So, by all means play with their system if you're happy with terms like this,
but don't just go ahead and assume that your voice is copyright to you -
upload samples to Lyrebird and they can use your voice for whatever they like.

Beware though, as you are using XP, the latest ones won't work for you.

Hi Adriano, the error sound is usually only played in the snapshot builds - Next and Master builds.  If you are using NVDA 2017.3 you shouldn't hear them.

Note that NVDA 2017.4 won't support XP anymore.  Once we discovered this with a recent snapshot build, we built in a check which warns you and automatically offers to install 2017.3 (the stable version).  If you were running off a Next or Master build and updated to one of these newer versions then followed the prompts to move to 2017.3, you won't be on the next or master branch anymore and hence won't hear those sounds.  Brian can likely reccomend the exact last builds you can use, but we'd officially recommend just staying on 2017.3 from now on XP.

Kind regards

Quentin.

It looks like it. Does anyone have an update on this one? I rely on
NVDARemote for my job.

Thanks,

Winamp of course has a mode where it scans for portable music players each time it boots up.

You know what? I'm having the same problem too. I manually put my PC to
sleep at night and when I plug my iPod Touch in to the USB ports and any
key to wake it up and sitting on the desktop it will say Winamp 20 of 21.

Hi Jessica,

I have the same problem on windows 10. I keep focus on the task bar.
If I leave the focus on the desktop, NVDA keeps repeating the icon
that has the focus. I am not installing anything.

I know Christopher Toth and I forget the other bloak who wrote the add-on, but don't know if he maintains the website also.

It most certainly does. I have a friend using it portably for it.

As far as I know, Thunderbird doesn't open multiple folders at the
same time. If that isn't essential, it will do everything else, as
will e-mail programs in general.

Hi,

Try Mozilla Thunderbird. Works with NVDA just fine and has everything
you need.

Thanks for any help. Outlook keeps crashing every time I try to

within the same window).
