Re: Downloading from YouTube

I don't know why.  Which version of the program are you using?  In version 3.x, it may appear that nothing happens but using object navigation shows if something is.  It is much easier for those not aquainted with object navigation in NVDA to use version 2x of the program because what is occurring is shown in the title bar and reading it shows what is occurring.

Also, how are you placing the download address in the program?

What do you mean by Ponts stopped working.  It works fine here, both 2.x and 3.x versions.  Please give details.  If the program generally had stopped working, I'd have seen lots of discussion on various lists I follow.  We need to try to figure out why it isn't working in your case.

Can using Imap versus pop3 have anything to do with this type of issue? Can the number of Emails in a particular folder have anything to do with this issue?
I have been using Thunderbird for years and experience no such issues. I am running the latest Thunderbird on Win 10 and use Pop3 and keep my Email folders rather small with regards to the number of Emails in them. Right now I have four Email address including three from my Internet provider and one Gmail account.
I know saying I don't have any issues isn't solving the problem but something in your setup has to be the issue.

As an aside, and I do not know whether it applies here, don't forget that a very great many ISPs have completely deprecated straight FTP (which does not mask passwords and has been recognized as a security threat for some time) and a number will not support SFTP (Secure File Transfer Protocol) either.

I stopped using FTP, for the most part, very long ago because it's becoming an anachronism that is losing active support.   FileZilla is definitely still being actively supported, as I just looked at the FileZilla Home Page and the last update to Version 3.45.1 occurred on September 25, 2019.

Bit confused am I. Thought the audio description feature in Ease of Access would display videos with AD without having to turn them on for every source. This is what the Audio Description setting in IOS accomplishes. In looking at the feature on a Windows web site, what I found referred to Seeing AI and its use with a smart phone. what is NVDA's com registration fixing tool?

molly the blind tech lover

Hey everyone, Molly here

I hope everyone is having a great weekend.

I am wondering, what is NVDA’s  com registration fixing  tool? I want to learn as much as I can about NVDA, and I am curious as to what this tool is and what it is used for. I looked through the NVDA user guide before posting but I could not find info about it under the tools section. Perhaps I missed something?

Looking forward to hearing from you guys

Have a great weekend 😊

The podcast is Breaking in Windows.

It deals with incorporating NVDA in a talking installer.

The particular episode is Levtech Winstall makes Windows 10 chatty.

So found my way to the Blindcooltech site which displayed a link to this winstall program. However when I click on the link the page I want times out and invites me to try again.

Any ideas or perhaps a direct link to this program.

Andrea

If I use the latest version my nvda will stop when I open the first message.  This is very unusable.

And the latest version is 68.1.1.   You're long overdue for an update.

Once in "Ease of Access", click the link that says "Use the computer without a display". Tab till it says "turn on audio description".

Hello Sarah and list,

If you are unwilling to provide an answer short of telling someone to Google something and that you will not hold their hand, please refrain posting messages to the list. This message is not strictly for Sarah, either, which is why I am posting it to this list. If you wish to include links where people can get more information, or if you want to add a link to a Google search result or something, that is fine, but if you have nothing to contribute other than telling someone to Google something, please don't think that your input is valued or needed. I think that people should research information on their own, and we should give people tools to help them do so, but I don't think that we should go on list and tell users to "Google it" without giving them any additional information.. Also, please remember that everyone is coming from a different place, with different abilities. Hand-holding, as you call it, is pretty much what any mailing list or forum is, if you think about it. There is very little that you cannot figure out if you read help files, do lots of research, read books, read through past archived messages, etc. Yet we still have a mailing list. I am not saying this to say that people should not research... indeed, I think part of a mailing list means that you should try to do a basic search first before asking a qustion in order not to post so many repetitive questions which can be easily found, but most any question on any forum or mailing list in my mind can be considered as hand-holding if someone answers. We are here to help one another.
