Ok, I've installed Signal Desktop. Either I'm totally stupid, or it doesn't work as expected with NVDA.

I can't even set it up properly. It keeps telling me that my data have been imported, and that I have to choose a folder. I can't choose any folder, and it isn't clear where data are placed.

Don't know what to say...

If you agree, let's try and install it, and then compare notes, either here or off-list.

I don't know whether this would be considered O.T., but it's about NVDA's interaction with an app, so I don't know.

Hi Robert

The one issue this has created is that TB now hangs trying to save sent mail on the remote account, for both accounts I have.

Anyone else have this issue?

Thanks Robert, this really helped.

I still have one issue with TB - when I am replying to a message, it sometimes feels like I am typing through mud, because the system lags and stutters - it is really noticeable if I have character echo on.

But it doesn't happen consistently ...

Re: Accessing Chrome History

Gene

See this article, which may help you see more history and see it more conveniently.  I don't know anything about this site and I don't vouch for any add-ons or utilities discussed in terms of safety or stability.  But it has interesting and potentially useful information.

As for the initial problem, See if this will help.
Open history.
Tab until you get to a check box.
Tab once beyond it and you are In a history item

Go into forms mode, NVDA key space bar.
Then down arrow and see how many results you can move through.  I don't know if that will solve the problem.
There is a search edit field you probably know about and that may be a much better way to use history in Chrome without the utility or add-on.  I seldom use history and I particularly dislike the Chrome history interface.

the add on updater updates supported add ons that are found on the official nvda add on web page.

I read on the list about 60 percent of them are ready to go with nvda 2019.3 when it comes out. So they are updating them so they work on it.

I think if you have nvda 2019.2 100 percent are compatible

It is because of the new python 3 code they need it to work on.

Hello all,

Sorry to be unresponsive for so long. I had to unrelatedly walk away from the excel training for a few days including a few coincidental restarts. When I went back, it worked.

I've got nothing....

Thank you for the suggestions and offers of more in depth help offline. Here is hoping whatever was wrong before is fixed. I had recently installed some updates and not yet restarted more than a couple of times so perhaps impacts were still trickling down.

Overall, I am enjoying the training greatly.

Hello all,

I don't see anything describing my situation in recent conversations so
am starting a new thread.

I'm going through the NVDA excel training and have found that when
following the precise directions in the training, headers are not
reading as it says they should.

I have a set of cells with data. I go to the start of the row that I
want to use as column headers and press NVDA+shift+c.

NVDA announces A2 set as start of column headers. This is correct.

However that header is not read when I navigate through the table.

If I repeat the set column header hotkey, it says that the cell is
already set as the column header. If I press it twice rapidly it says
that the column header is removed.

Everything works as it should right up until I actually start navigating
the table data and do not hear headers spoken.

I am using NVDA 19.2, MS excel 1908 most recent build.

Has anyone else seen this problem? Am I missing something in settings? I
do have the table information checkbox for headers selected in the
document settings of NVDA.

If the instructions in the excel tutorial are missing a step it would be
good to correct that as well.

Thank you in advance for help troubleshooting this.

Warmly,
Sally
