Re: welcome screen on nvda
Are you referring to the opening xylophone tones, followed by, "Loading NVDA, please wait."?
If so, open NVDA Settings, General Tab (the one that opens by default) and check the checkbox for Play sounds when starting or exiting NVDA. -- Brian - Windows 10 Pro, 64-Bit, Version 1909, Build 18363 Science has become just another voice in the room; it has lost its platform. NVDA and MathML, specifically for Chemistry Markup Language [Subscripts in Particular]
Andy Keyworth
Hello,
I'd like to find an answer about if NVDA can be configured to read MathML, WHERE the MathML is being used to represent chemistry. The main issue is that NVDA does not currently seem to read the subscripts in chemical equations. Thank you, Andy Keyworth

Using Google Actions console with NVDA
Patrick ZAJDA
Hello,
Does someone has succeeded in finding a project ID on Google Actions console?
In fact, what can we do with a screen reader on https://console.actions.google.com ? ;)
I tried using Google Chrome. The project ID looks like not existing, we have unusable menus.
Oh yes, I was able to create a project lol.
If someone has already used it I am really interested. And who could I contact about accessibility related issues on
this service? There are a lot of wirk ;)
Best regards, --

From what I can gather, part of the reason is that NVDA developers didn't get updated bits from whoever was working on Seika display driver. Cheers, Joseph

I'm thinking it might have to do with DLL's, which suggests that there is no pure Python driver for Seika 6 at the moment. Cheers, Joseph

Hello simoneand all, Funny, I was just going to report a strange experience I've just had with my Touchme5. The external add-on (or driver, or whatever it was) never worked for meThe display was seen by NVDA in Automatic, but not if I selected it from the Seika option. I got the "Unable to load display" error. On automatic, though, I could read the first 40 characters, move down or up by line, but not pan horizontally. Last week I bought ZDSR, a Chinese screen reader for Windows, which only supports Seika display brailles. I installed it, and my Touchme5 sorked like a clock immediately. the strangest thing, however, was that, when I treid using with NVDA, it loaded regularly choosing the Seika option, and now it works perfectly well with NVDAtoo. I can scroll, pan, use touch cursors... Don't know what did the trick; I can only think that ZDSR installed some driver or other that now lets me use this display all along. I hope the devs will find a way to make Seika displays work with NVDA again, because the braillle is very good, and it's a pity they can't be used at their best. sorry for the partially OT, but I wanted to report this, just in case someone understands what might have done the trick. Hi, Quentin.
I noticed after the update for this beta, is that the speech
synth selection is not showing after pressing NVDA plus Control
plus S, and the nvda stopped on the background. So, what I did is
to restart again to reload. Can someone could replicate this error
as well. Thanks.

MSI Installer not speaking buttons correctly in Windows 10 2004.
Jonathan COHN
Well, I have an MSI installer, that has buttons like customize, and complete install. In Windows 1903 and 1909 these installers are working correctly with all screen readers. In Windows 2004, I am seeing NVDA say compeit for complete Installation on these buttons. I highly doubt that this is an NVDA issue, but has anybody seen this badly spoken buttons in installers with NVDA and Windows10 v 2004? Thanks! Jonathan

I should have said that as I recall, the original problem discussed is a volume level one. I was pointing out something else that may cause problems for people if they are unaware of it and how it is actually a good feature.

There is a play button Firefox places on the screen which you activate. I don't use Firefox much, but I've seen more than one play button at times and the one at or near the top of the screen does nothing. You have to find the one farther down. That's actually a good feature for blind people, preventing sites from playing unwanted audio when a screen-reader is being used. It looks as though it is a NVDA problem I just tried the same process with window eyes 9.5 and repeated the same process finding a product in the mailer say kiwi fruit then pressing the enter key on it. A box appears with weight, price etc then to make it disappear use the escape key. So why can jaws see it plus window eyes? I thought it was on there side but seems not to be. I guess it will not get fixed then unless a ticket goes in or others can reproduce the same problem. Gene nz

Re: CodeFactory eloquence won't start anymore
Well any major build you just deactivate first.
toggle quoted messageShow quoted text
I had a server issue with the server being offline but no issue. The thing is vocaliser/eloquence doesn't always check. From time to time it checks to see if its online, which means can it connect to the server. But it doesn't do it all the time, which means you can go without it doing that for days and of course its randum. I have my key and make sure to deactivate the keys before any major upgrade. However the same happened with jaws when I used it and some other programs. At least unlike some games every time you updated windows the reg key changed all the time that was a pain.
