For Seika6 or touchme6 or whatever that finish with 6, yes, we have
troubles.
But why NVDA doesn't support anymore the Seika5 display, and we should
install the external addon?
If this is a final decision, we should update documentation, because from
NVDA 2019.3 the normal situation is that described by Ollie, where you can
read 40 characters and then you can't scroll with dedicated keys.
Perhaps, Ollie the dedicated screen reader installed something magic on
your pc, some dll, some drivers, or some little creatures that make the
dirty work!

with my Touchme5.


The external add-on (or driver, or whatever it was) never worked for
meThe display was seen by NVDA in Automatic, but not if I selected it
from the Seika option. I got the "Unable to load display" error.


On automatic, though, I could read the first 40 characters, move down
or up by line, but not pan horizontally.


Last week I bought ZDSR, a Chinese screen reader for Windows, which
only supports Seika display brailles.


I installed it, and my Touchme5 sorked like a clock immediately.


the strangest thing, however, was that, when I treid using with NVDA,
it loaded regularly choosing the Seika option, and now it works
perfectly well with NVDAtoo.

I can scroll, pan, use touch cursors...


Don't know what did the trick; I can only think that ZDSR installed
some driver or other that now lets me use this display all along.


I hope the devs will find a way to make Seika displays work with NVDA
again, because the braillle is very good, and it's a pity they can't
be used at their best.

I noticed after the update for this beta, is that the speech synth selection is not showing after pressing NVDA plus Control plus S, and the nvda stopped on the background. So, what I did is to restart again to reload. Can someone could replicate this error as well. Thanks.

Firefox hasn't used Flash to play videos for a good while, unless an HTML5
copy isn't available on a web site. As I recall, the problem is a volume
level one.

But whatever is causing that problem, its worth noting that Firefox won't
automatically play videos in more recent versions. There is a play button
Firefox places on the screen which you activate. I don't use Firefox much,
but I've seen more than one play button at times and the one at or near the
top of the screen does nothing. You have to find the one farther down.

That's actually a good feature for blind people, preventing sites from
playing unwanted audio when a screen-reader is being used.

This is using latest version of google chrome and the latest version of the new edge as well as nvda 2020.1


Could some one put in a ticket for it and or see what is happening.


I downloaded the mailer and I know for a fact that is not accessible to a screen reader user it is just scanned images.

Yet NVDA does not see it. I have tried quite a few ways to bring it up. Could some one try to reproduce the same problem I am guessing this is a bug that will need to be fixed.

I don't know if I should write here, but it's mostly to see if others

had this issue.  Perhaps I was unlucky.  I often am with technology.





So I purchased CodeFactory eloquence and it worked well... until it

didn't.  Now my profile with Eloquence in it won't start. When

selecting it I have a dialog telling me that CodeFactory will open

settings to check registration.  I say okay and yes when Windows asks me

if this software should be allowed to perform admin tasks. The settings

open... but on clicking on ok I get a simple error: couldn't load

synthesizer.  This happens if I select the speech synthesizer in NVDA's

settings as well.





So I would guess: not an NVDA bug, most likely a CodeFactory bug.

Still, as far as I know, things worked great before the update of the

last NVDA version (I'm running on 2020.1 now).  Then again, it can

hardly be a Python version error, since I don't expect major changes

took place in Python version between these NVDA versions.





Has anyone experienced similar issues?  And found a quick fix?  I like

quick fixes... if they hold.
