Accessibility of Inno setup Ide with NVDA

Jiří Fenz

Hello all!

i'm using Inno Setup to create installations.

It's no problem to write my scripts with some Text editor.

But i think, that possibility to do it also in Inno Setups Ide would be also nice option.

Only problem is, that main edit of Inno Setup ide seems to be inaccessible with Nvda in this time.

So my question is:

Do you think that make this IDE accessible is possible with making some no so complicated thinks in NVDA?

Or is in this case better option to contact Devs of Inno Setup to suggest them to make some changes on theirs site?

And last question:

Thanks for replyes.

Re: NVDA Hotkeys for accessing Firefox notifications

I’m not sure but in the small number I’ve heard, you appear to be able to cause them to respond by letting them read to the end.  At the end, you will hear actions followed bhy a shortcut command such as to whatever the popup says, such as install then alt and a letter, then other options followed by other short cut commands.

I  seem to remember often hearing three options, I’m not sure if I’ve heard more.  This shows the importance of letting unfamiliar messages in unfamiliar interfaces read fullhy.

Re: Any desktop client for twitter with NVDA

Edited

Twitter has banned a lot of accessible clients like OpenTween and a lot of non accessible clients. Mastodon is very open and accessible, see links below. I doubt Twitter will budge on this because they want advertising. Third party clients cut out advertising completely. Anyway, check out the below links. In fact, I'm shocked TW Blue hasn't been banned yet.

While reading the below, keep in mind that OpenTween and others have put in their appeals, but have heard absolute radio silence on Twitters end. So, if TW Blue gets banned, don't be shocked.

Lastly, no. Blind developers don't quite see the value in developing for Mastodon yet, which is why there hasn't been a Mastodon client developed for the blind on desktop, but a few of the mobile developers making their own Mastodon apps have taken accessibility very, very, seriously, for now.

  1. Blindness resource for OpenTween.
  2. Accessibility overview of Mastodon
  3. A screen reader guide for Mastodon with chapters.
  4. OpenTween for Mastodon.
  5. Another OpenTween fork for Mastodon. The page does not translate well.

Maybe try uninstalling, and, fully reinstalling it?

And, funny enough, although have never bothered providing a donation, I don't get that prompt nowadays, and, am running latest version 0.95?

Re: Converting JAWS Dictionaries

Hi Pele,

well, this in an addon would help many JAWS and Windows Eyes users to
switch to NVDA. Alternatively could s.o. write a guid to doing this and
attach this to the NVDA comunity wiki.

kind regards

Braille Display and Keyboard Commands

Pele West

Hi Everyone

I have connected my Braille Sense U2 QWERTY to my laptop to use in
terminal mode. This works quite well as I can use the keyboard.

I can type letters and numbers and move around with the arrow keys, but
the function keys and modifiers have to be typed using the laptop
keyboard.

Is there a way to program NVDA to make the modifier keys work on the
Braille Sense?

Thanks

Re: Latest NVDA and Word 365

Simone Dal Maso

it is dropbox, that is absolutely intrusive. You should go to dropbox preferences and deactivate any office integration. I don't remember the exact procedure since I do it only one time, but it was really tedious.

When I fired up NVDA this morning there was an update which I installed. Sorry don’t know the version but I always update so I assume it is the latest version not a beta.
I have a Word 365 document in my Drop Box document folder. I can open it as usual with Jaws 2020 but when I try to open it with NVDA, it will not bring up the document and I get “Drop Box Window” spoken by NVDA and there is absolutely nothing I can do from there. Harrowing or tabbing or pressing enter have no effect. All I can do is close it with the system menu or alt f4. I have tried exiting and re-entering NVDA and have tried re-booting the device but no change.
This is on my Surface tablet running Win 10 Pro.
When opening the same document with NVDA on my desktop running Win 10 home, it opens and functions normally?

Re: Torrents in QBitTorrent, or other accessible torrent clients.

Honestly have been wishing for someone to code a really good torrent
program for a while now. The options we have kind of suck in different
ways.

On 4/23/20, JM Casey <jmcasey@...> wrote:
I still use u/mutorrent.
It's nota great solution but if Qbittorent has a context menu or something
you could always check the properties to make sure you know which one you
are on. Then you can remember the sequence, select the ones you want and
delete them.

clients.

Hi all. I'm back with another question.

I've been using QBitTorrent for torrents, but so far as I can tell, the list
of torrents is inaccessible. So I've been using the web interface.
While that's accessible, my problem is this. Say I have, I dunno, twelve
torrents going. I want to delete seven of them. In the web interface, I have
to pick one, delete it, pick another one, delete it, and so on. Is there a
way to do this in QBitTorrent itself, so I can pick multiple torrents and
just delete them? Ideally it would also ask me if I wanted to delete the
actual data or not.

Alternatively, can anybody recommend another client that's accessible? I was
using utorrent/mu torrent, whatever it's called, but one place I check
doesn't like it anymore because it has some sort of security issue or
something. That's why I switched to QBitTorrent. It wasn't really accessible
either. You'd think a list box wouldn't be that hard but apparently torrent
client designers like to make them non-standard or something. So if
anybody's got something really accessible, I'd love to know about it. Maybe
that is QBitTorrent and I'm just missing something.

I've retitled the topic so it might get additional attention.  If someone can't help you here, consider asking on the PhonesForTheBlind group, as there are a lot of iPhone users there and iTunes has been discussed relatively frequently.
