I know about these. My issue is if its just for pdfs does abby pdf fine reader scan paper documents anymore. Its after all why I have ocr software.

Will you please create a feature request issue for it? https://github.com/nvaccess/nvda/issues The idea being a (default unassigned) gesture to cycle through the available sound devices. That could solve several problems, such as when connecting a new sound device and Windows loses track of what should be default, or Windows and NVDA do their flip-flop of default and selected, as sometimes happens.
