Re: Unable to get to Embedded object when playing something in Google Chrome only
On what sites? Can you give a link to a
specific movie or audio where this happens? When people report a problem
on web pages, if possible, an address to a page where the problem occurs should
be given. This may or may not be a problem with Chrome. It may be
that for some reason, other browsers are using HTML5 for the stream and other
browsers are using Flash on the same page.

Subject: [nvda] Unable to get to Embedded object when playing
something in Google Chrome only
Hi, I'm no longer able to get to embedded objects by
pressing O, and/or Shift O when I play a movie or audio. It happens only in
Google Chrome. NVDA says: No next embedded object, and/or No previous
embedded object. When I try the same in Firefox, or even Opera, or
even Avast! Safe Zone Browser, it won't fail. Note: I
am regularly in the browse mode, for it is only possible to issue the
embedded object-related command when in the browse mode. Google
chrome version: latest. NVDA version: latest. Operating
system: Windows version: Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (64-bit) Note
2: When I arrow up or down manually on a web page, I can find the
embedded object area on the
page.

Hi, I am trying to setup a calendar that my wife and I can share. I am using the accessible view on Google but am not seeing a way to create a calendar or to share a calendar. I am using the latest version of Chrome as my browser and NVDA 2017.1.
Is anyone else doing this and if so how with NVDA?

Unable to get to Embedded object when playing something in Google Chrome only
Hi,
I'm no longer able to get to embedded objects by pressing O, and/or Shift O when I play a movie or audio. It happens only in Google Chrome. NVDA says: No next embedded object, and/or No previous embedded object.
When I try the same in Firefox, or even Opera, or even Avast! Safe Zone Browser, it won't fail.
Note:
I am regularly in the browse mode, for it is only possible to issue the embedded object-related command when in the browse mode.
Google chrome version: latest.
NVDA version: latest.
Operating system: Windows version: Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (64-bit)
Note 2:
When I arrow up or down manually on a web page, I can find the embedded object area on the page.

Re: NVDA not pulling up list of webpage elements in Firefox or IE!
When you are in a text entry field, NVDA
automatically switches to focus mode. I strongly believe that such
switching should not be done automatically by default and this is just one more
illustration of why. Blind people need to clearly understand when they are
using which mode and automatic switching makes this more difficult for
inexperienced users and makes it harder to properly teach what is going on and
when to use which mode.

Subject: Re: [nvda] NVDA not pulling up list of webpage elements in

Hi
Gene,
Thank
you for your response. After doing some further testing using your
recommendations I found the following;
-
NVDA
commands work normally when pulling up the NVDA menu or reading
screens.
-
NVDA
will pull up the list of elements on a webpage once focus is not in a search
edit box like that in Google.
So
maybe having NVDA focused within the search edit box of Google and then trying
to pull up the list of elements is not what I should be doing. If this is the
case then my issue is solved as it works properly once outside such form
areas.
So
technically when in an edit box browse mode is off and therefore the ability for
NVDA to pull up the elements list is unavailable.
Thanks
Gene.
Many
thanks,
Paul.

Does the insert work in

Does the insert key
work in other programs or when issuing commands such as insert n to open the
NVDA menu? We need to know if this is a general pproblem or limited to

Subject: [nvda] NVDA not
pulling up list of webpage elements in Firefox or

Hi All,
Using the latest
NVDA on a Windows 7 machine. When using either latest firefox or IE11 on a
desktop PC and try to use "Insert + F7" to pull up a list of elements on a
webpage I get the "Enable carat browsing" message from both browsers. Is there
something I need to change in order to bypass this message and get NVDA to pull
up the list of elements such as links etc. It looks like NVDA is not
recognising the number pad insert key or the insert key in the group
of six buttons. No changes were made after the installation of NVDA apart
from the synthesizer speed and volume.
Many thanks for any
assistance.
Paul.
