I have already upgraded some laptops from 8.1 to 10, and never had the need
to re-install NVDA...

Well then, it appears my comments don't apply since reinstalling NVDA was
recommended after upgrading to Windows 10.

I have come across this issue on windows 8.1, and not 10. By the way, file
explorer works fine on win 10. The fix is not permanent, which means that it
will not occur until it randomly decides to happen.

Hi,
When you open the folder you have to work with, restart NVDA. That fixed
this issue on my desktop computer.

Hi All,
First, I am, by no means, a windows genius. But, for me, NVDA stopped reading the file explorer folders, after I reset my file explorer settings. Have you, by any chance, been changing file explorer controls? If not, it will most likely not apply.

There are instructions there. Google for the requirements under windows section install, and follow those instructions. I've used this on ubuntu and it works great.

Re: State of play with NVDA and Skype

hi.
i use skype 6.21 with nvda 2015.4 and i dont have any problem.
if you check accessibility in skype settings, skype works well with
nvda and you dont need to install any addons or other programs to make
it accessible for nvda.
and also skype is better supported if you install skype version 7 and
nvda has many keys to supports it better.
God bless you.

Re: is it possible to safe configuration profiles?

hi.
in the preferences and then general options, make shure that Save
configuration on exit is checked (which is checked by default)
after exiting nvda, you have all settings and configurations that you
set before.
but if you make portable version of nvda and then install it in
different computers, also you can transfer all of your preferences to
other systems.
hope that help.
thanks and God bless you.
