Hi, bulc crap uninstaller is accessible with a little object nav but works better than revo, it will see 64bit programs and it works well using Nvda.

Ok, here you go.
1. Fire up the setup.exe file.
2. After the introductory screen, you have a series of radio buttons. Install from internet. Download without installing. And install from local directory. You, being a first time user, will probably want Install from Internet.
3. Next you pick your install directory; c:\cygwin or c:\cygwin64 by default.
4. Next you Pick your local pcakcage directory. This is where the packages are downloaded to; and you can install from it at a later time without redownloading.
5. Next you set your connection type. Pick the one that is applicable for your situation.
5. Next you will have to pick a mirror site. There's a lot of them; pick one from the list and then press enter.
6. Now here's the dialog Tyler was talking about. Here you have a series of radio buttons. Curr, exp, and keep. You want Curr.
7. Now you need to use your object navigation. Hit NVDA+numpad 6 until you hear NVDA say "list."
8. Now, use numpad 9 to read through the list that contains the package categories. To see what packages are in a given category, use NVDA+numpad slash to root your mouse pointer to it, and click the first letter of the category name. Then use numpad 9 again to read through the packages in that category. Click on the skip item to cycle a package from being not installed (skip) to install. When a package is set to install, the size in Kb will be announced instead of the word skip. Click the first letter of the category, once more, to hide the list of packages.
10. To install a given category, use your NVDA+numpad slash to root your pointer to the word default. Click that until you hear install.
11. Go through all the packages and categories you wish to install and then hit next. You will get a dialog asking about dependencies; let setup handle them all and you should be fine.
The rest should be self explanatory. Go and have a cup of coffee; this process takes a while. You can then launch cygwin terminal from your desktop after it's installed. You'll get a message about copying skeleton files, and then you're all set up.

[NVDA] aniversary update

Hi,
I have two questions.
1. When will NVDA 2016.3 be released?
2. In his podcast, Joseph said that the aniversay updates will be rleeased in waves. Does anyone know what the time frame for that is?
I've been getting updates, but I have not gotten the aniversary update yet?
Thanks

You can go back to the old version.  See this page:

I don't know if you have to uninstall the new version first.  Therefore, just to be safe, I think you should.  Always keep and back up installers for everything you install in case you need them again and don't get rid of them unless you know you will never use them.

Does this software have a web site that has a forum on it? I've not heard of it, but normally, if its not some kind of malware there will be a proper uninstaller. Unfortunately it may mean using a sighted person if the install/uninstall has not been designed very well.

Hi,
Please, please, tell me there's a way that my husband and i can get rid of this on our own as totally blind people? We have the latest version of JAWS as well as the latest version of NVDA and will use whichever one will let us do this and are using Windows 10. When my husband got an iCloud update this program got on our computer and it now is preventing us from updating to the latest TWBlue or using it at all. It's also slowing the computer down somewhat too. We have and use Viper and are amazed it allowed this on here. The program is not accessible with either JAWS or NVDA and we've tried to remove it the normal way to remove a program with no success. If anyone can help or knows anything about this, please email me either privately or on list? Thanks.

Hi Christo

I have the same version of microsoft word. I also tried the same sequence for word 2010, but not the earlier version.

I can confirm what you said for the 2010 version. some times it works and other times it does not. It seems to be on how quick or slow I do it wheather it wants to do it or not.

the word around that seem to work is a couple of extra steps.

Press the ALT key + letter N, then H. This will land you on a bland header. Shift tab a couple of times until you get to the part where it says edit the header then press the enter key make your changes then press enter key then the escape key. Doing it this way I can edit the header and change it if I want to .

I am learning my self how to do it so have been putting together a basic tutorial on using the basics of word and putting in a header and footer and editing them is part of it.

Hopefully the above helps.

I did not try it with a master snapshot it might of been fixed in that?:?

What weather add on are you talking about? The old one was the one you
have to edit the py file for your zip/postal code. With the newer one,
the more complex one, you need not do this. Visit the NVDA add on page

In relation to Google Chrome and NVDA

Dejan Ristic

Hi,

The previous and the current version of Google Chrome have changed some accessibility features in nvda.

When I do the facebook search, and when I use the up and down arrow keys, I am no longer able to hear the word "list" spoken before the found name is pronounced. The only thing I can hear is the same name pronounced when I up and down the list. Next, it is simply impossible for me to go through the list of names found. The same goes for the Opera browser. Compare these two and Mozilla Firefox, and you will understand me.

when I use Google Translate via Chrome and/or Opera, I am unable to hear the names of the languages spoken while I'm in the language list. The only words I can hear are: "list submenu collapsed" and "list submenu expanded". Compare Chrome and Opera with Mozilla, and you will face the difference. Let me also say that Internet explorer 11 is as accessible to NVDA as Mozilla Firefox in the mentioned cases.

I use the latest version of NVDA and the latest version of both Chrome and Opera.

My operating system is: Windows 7 Ultimate, 64Bit, SP1.

Thankful in advance

Dejan
