I already tried that. I had to end up calling the microsoft disability line and they changed my profile. Now edge works like a charm. Thanks very much for your help. Rosemarie

That's not why Windows Defender has a bad
reputation. It is better than it used to be but still not particularly
good. See this article and if people want more information, a search for
something like Windows Defender review 2016 should bring up many relevant
results.

manual check for updates several times a day as their virus database is updated several times a day but the program will only check itself once when you start the computer. This is probably why it seems to have a bad reputation. They need to fix this so it will check by itself every couple of hours. I find it to be quite accessible and as far as I saw from reviews, it was better then Defender. Yes it is true that Windows Defender is very accessible, but when it comes to updates, you need to play with the task scheduler within Windows. As far as protection, it's just enough to keep you out of trouble on a temperary basis, but as it stands now, I wouldn't make it the daily driver. There has been some slight improvements so stay tuned.

I wouldn't recommend it. It is ranked low on many independant
antivirus tests. For this reason using a third party solution is
probably better.

Hi all,
We are trying to connect the subject braille display to NVDA. It works fine via USB but, via bluetooth, NVDA can't detect the display. For info, it works with Jaws. Could it be that, even when stopped, Jaws would keep the port for him or something like this? -- Michel SUCH michel.such@free.fr Skype : michel.such Twitter : @SuchMichel

Re: drop box dil
Gene
If you can send real public links, they may not
have anything at the end. If you are sharing links, which can be used in
the same way but are technically different, there will be dl=0 at the
end. As far as dl=1 is concerned, it's always a good idea, when sending a
public link or a shared link, to make sure dl=1 is at the end. If it isn't
there, some people will have a file play if its an audio file. I'm not
sure if other files ever open instead of download. But Drop box is set up
to cause dl=1 to force a download of a file, no matter what kind of file it is
and no matter what browser and settings in the browser or other programs are
used. I always make sure dl=1 is at the end
of any file I send to anyone.

Yes indeed. Dropbox links sometimes do come up with nothing on the end, but I have no idea why this happens sometimes and not others. I can confirm the dl 1 and zeio system of forcing it to run or download, but I think when its not there the decision lies withhow you set up the browser to react.

Ofcause since mozilla updates in the background it can be a bit of a shocker when it changes. Sadly there doesn't seem to be any address box view where things will just work. I really wish it wouldn't convert to listbox mode because well its just bad. If there was something that would revert the address box to what it was then that would be fine.

Why not just use Windows Defender, which has been Microsoft's built-in antivirus and antimalware (to an extent) program packaged with all Windows versions since Windows 8? There is noting to install and it's probably more accessible than many third party products. Here is a test to find out whether your mission in life is complete.
