Re: An NVDA-compatible Markdown editor?
There's none that is kept up to date, so the best thing is to use Microsoft word with the Writage add on.

Re: blank lines add on.

I have no objection to an add-on or feature in NVDA that would skip blank lines when you up or down arrow reading the next line of text. I don't recall seeing that asked for in the past and as I understood the question yesterday, it was how to avoid blank lines when down arrowing through a message, appearing that the person was reading line by line.

When reading documents in a word processor or mail as HTML, it is my understanding that control down arrow or control up arrow will read by paragraph, skipping blank lines in documents. I haven't used that feature enough to discuss it further, others may have. Gene

Does anyone know if there is an addon where you can turn off the feature where if NVDA says blank if there is a blank line or a carriage return it says blank and would like to turn it off cause when am reading emails I come to a lot of blank lines or returns in an email and keep on hearing: blank, blank and it kind of drives me crazy so would like if it all possible to turn off this feature with in the add on if the add on is in the works maybe it might work with nvda 2010.1 onward. An NVDA-compatible Markdown editor?
Gerardo Corripio
Any of you guys know of an accessible NVDA-compatible Markdown Editor, in which I could when a link is poasted into the document, invoke a command, that will generate the Markdown code for it? Or wen I want to generate a list, it would automatically when entering a new line for the list, generate the Star character? Thanks for info.

Hi Use the audio ring, NVDA+Control+Left/right arrow loops around various audio features, one of which is voice. Once set on Voice, use NVDA+Control+Up/Down arrow to switch between voices.
Cheers Chris

I may have missed any responses, been fielding too many emails elsewhere.
I installed two Vocalizer voices from Code Factory and wonder if there is a shortcut to switching between them on the fly? Also one voice has an update, how would I get it? Thanks.

Sorry, please ignore my last mail. Hi Joseph, thanks for your quick reply. Touch Screen Support is activated. Just checked. I just tested it with the learning mode of Narrator and it works perfectly. My gestures are always recognized well, also the numbers of fingers I use. I don't know what's wrong. Best Denis Am Do., 2. Hi,

Are you perhaps using a third-party speech synthesizer such as Vocalizer? If yes, that might explain part of the issue. Cheers, Joseph

Hi,

You must save settings to user profile (Control+NVDA+C) before copying settings (and add-ons) to system profile. Cheers, Joseph

Gmail and Edge (Version 83.0.478.58)
Denis Sariyannis
Hi, I'm using Windows 10 (latest), Edge Version 83.0.478.58 and NVDA 2020.1. When I open the Gmail site (standard mode) and create a new mail I have trouble with the edit field for the message. I press enter on it and focus mode activates. After a while it seems that speech and braille display are completely out of sync. They show different things and I'm not able to set the cursor to a specific line/letter to correct something. Restarting NVDA seems to help for a short time but then I'm running into this once more. I cannot reproduce it but it happens often. Does anyone have this too? Best Denis

Re: Touch Screen doesn't work with NVDA
Hi, Try (you need to use type cover or another keyboard for this):
Based on the description you gave us, it appears NVDA’s touch support routine isn’t recognizing some touch gestures properly. This might be caused by either touch support being turned off from NVDA (that’s what the above step was checking for), something going on with touchscreen hardware, or touchscreen controller driver. If it’s hardware or driver, I advise asking Microsoft to look into this (Surface Pro 7 was made by Microsoft). Cheers, Joseph

Hi all, I am using touch screens for ages now. So I tried to use the Enhanced Touch Screen Gestures add-in on my Surface Pro 7. It does not work at all. Most of times NVDA or the screen does not recognize my single clicks with one finger. Also I have to tap with four fingers several times until I get into learning mode. Most of my gestures are simply recognized as something else. Any idea what I'm doing wrong?
Best regards
