Hi, it does this is what I used to do when I had to disable for a while.

Hi Gene

Yes it’s the right click, left click does nothing and left double click
invokes the same gui as using the desktop shortcut, where the temporary
disablement feature is a bit more difficult to find. I cannot get the
AVG icon to respond to the applications key either, which would remove
the need for mouse access . Most other icons in the Overflow
Notifications Toolbar will respond to the Applications key which behaves
like a right mouse click but unfortunately AVG does not. I suspect the
in-built event handlers do not cater for keyboard input.

Numpad star is a right click. Are you saying that a right click should
be used on the icon? I want people to clearly understand the reason for
your command choice. It may matter in future when they want to use the
mouse to right click something else in the system tray or elsewhere.

Gene is quite right The first keypress should be NVDA+Numpad / however
the second keypress should not be Numpad / but Numpad * to invoke the
Context menu. Apologies for the incorrect post.

The corrected steps are:

1. Press Windows+b to move to the system tray.

2Press enter on the Notifications chevron button.

3 Use arrow keys to scroll the overflow notifications list until you
locate the AVG anti-virus button.

4 Press NVDA+numpad / to move mouse *focus *to the AVG button

5 Press Numpad * to activate the AVG context menu (Note: i can’t get the
Applications key to invoke the AVG context menu, hence the 2 step process)

6. ‘Temporarily disable AVG protection’ appears in the Context menu list.

When you activate the disable option, a dialog appears with various
warnings about removeing protection and instructions about re-enabling
it. You can also set a timer to automatically re-enable protection
after a certain time has elapsed.

All references to numpad 8 should be changed to numpad slash. So to
move mouse focus to the button, the command is numpad insert numpad
slash. To left click the mouse, the command is numpad slash

Hi:

In order to turn off the Audion Ducking, press NVDA + control + s.
Then press the tab key until you get to the Audio Ducking feature. It
is a radio button so you press the up arrow until you get to "No
ducking". Then tab to OK and press the spacebar.

Ok here is the crux of this. Over here in the UK daisy and mp3 content is
often sent out on ram sticks. we even have stand alone stick players. A
listener has asked me if a piece of software exists that can play this
content say a folder at a time so he can listen on his laptop.
I've seen self voicing book players but they cost money and wondered if
there is an easy to use nvda compatible one around. OK he could go around
explorer playing tracks and making playlists, but he is not, shall we say,

Either uninstall it or stop it from running at start up. although you cannot log in the software still seems to be updating and trying to do things on my computer, resulting in some cases in excessive processor load from msse and freezing of nvda after it tries to run after an update.
I simply used msconfig to turn it off dropbox that is, at start up and then restarted and have had no further issues. Its verynaughty of them not to properly disable the product when they cut off xp users.

I don't know what you mean by you didn't have to do a cut or paste.  If you didn't cut and paste, you didn't move the file.  You just opened the location.

Should download the file, but I did this and found winamp played it fine. I suspect it might be because I set up mp3 to default to winamp and that I use the K-lite codec pack on all my machines and select other player when I install it, making winamp the default as I say. Not tried this in windows 10, where as we know there seem to be no sensible file type defaults set for things, no matter what Winamp may claim, one has to do it manually.
