It works quite well, sometime when you are writing you can't know what you are doing, so please install the excellent nvda's addon named:
Windows10 app essentials.

Best regards.

Hello,
you should be sure that the book you want to read has the "truetype§" font enabled. You can check it in the detail information page of the book.
Let me know if you can find this.

I read the userguide chapter about it but what happens is when I open a

Re: changing how nvda reads numbers

I already tried the demo awhile ago so I can't test the behavior.  However, I will try the experiment in JAWS and see what it does, although that is testing what may be a different version of Eloquence with a different screen-reader and thus is not at all definitive, but interesting..

In JAWS, at least the older version I tested with, the context affects how the item is read.  If I use read to end and a sentence is being read, it reads correctly as 1000 dollars,  If I use control right arrow and read word by word, it is incorrectly read as dollars 1000.  What I don't know is whether JAWS itself is presenting the information differently to Eloquence or if Eloquence itself is using some sort of context analysis for the different results.

Re: hims braille display.

Hi Michael,

They need to have the Braille display drivers from HIMS here: http://www.himsintl.com/?c=2/13&uid=2319

The documentation for the display itself will have more comprehensive information about how to use it once you have it up and running, but the NVDA User Guide does have the key assignments and a couple of other points.  See this topic and the next depending on the exact model: https://www.nvaccess.org/files/nvda/documentation/userGuide.html?#toc113

Kind regards

Quentin.

Brian,

It's always tricky working out when to put off releasing because of a bug.  It's also not easy to try and document in terms of, if bug X, put off releasing while a fix is found, if bug Y, release and keep looking for a fix.  We'll keep an eye on these couple of issues though and see what we can all work out about what's causing them and what we can do to fix it.

Apologies for the problems!

Regards

Quentin.

I gather the devs cannot duplicate the effect and I cannot here on mine reliably either.

I just tested this with E-Speak.  E-speak reads as dollar 1000.  Via Voice reads as 1000 dollars.  There are so many synthesizers to try, and many are free, that you may want to try different ones and see which ones read as you want.  You might, as I said, get help with using regular expressions in the speech dictionary so you may want to wait to see what happens, if you like and want to use E-Speak with the game.
