Hi.
My Lenovo laptop does not have home and end key either.

I have to use the fn key along with the arrow keys.
For example, fn +end is the is home, while fn +right arrow is end.

Hello David,

Also you can build it from the source code in the official repository:
https://github.com/NVDARemote/NVDARemote/releases/tag/2.3

Or you can download it here - I just builded it:
https://hotinfo.in.ua/remote-2.3.nvda-addon

Good luck!

nvda 2020.2 and 2020.3 beta and waterfox 2020.09

Hi all.

Well, I have just tried to test waterfox and the nvda version 2020.2 and the latest beta 2020.3 b4, with waterfox.

With no addons, and yes, both crash, beta4 does the same with the stable but the stable is a little better.

I have moved round blogspot but this will happen if I have been brousing generally from twitter to forums, to other things over a period of a few seconds to a few minutes say 3-5 minutes but could be longer.

Here is the debuglog.

https://www.dropbox.com/s/co8ddu4tqzmdc6y/nvdawf.log?dl=1

It could simply do with slow sites and things loading slowly who knows.

Its been dogging me since waterfox 2020.09.

And here I was thinking it was a waterfox problem.

The beta version of nvda is being used with the configuration I would usually use minus the addons.

Nvda runs fine in 2020.08 version of waterfox.

I was able to make it crash fully but who knows.

I have latest drivers and updates.

Otherwise everything else runs fine.

This is with waterfox classic.

I am using windows 2004 1941.546

This happened in the previous 2004 build though.

Till I can get this sorted I can't use waterfox above classic 2020.08 as it crashes and can sometimes go unresponsive and often can take out nvda alltogether till I close it.

I can run 2020.08 just fine.

People on waterfox end have tried to test the brouser and found nothing.

Thought I'd push this out while nvda was still in beta.

StationPlaylist add-on 20.10.1 and 20.09.2-LTS released #addonrelease

Hello StationPlaylist users,

SPL add-on 20.10.1 and 20.09.2-LTS versions are on your way, coming to stable and long-term support channel subscribers, respectively. 20.10.1 is a localization update, whereas 20.09.2-LTS includes various changes from 20.10.x. Specifically, NVDA will now let you know if Studio window is minimized when trying to switch to it, improvements to column header and content handling in Studio’s playlist viewer, new encoder settings file format (incompatible with older add-on releases as a result), and other under the hood changes.

Note: if you are using 20.10 (stable) and would like to switch to 20.09.x (long-term support) or vice versa, you must visit NVDA community add-ons website (addons.nvda-project.org) to download the version you need. At the moment both versions are almost identical, but starting in November, stable channel releases will diverge from long-term support updates. Starting from January 2021, stable releases will require Studio 5.30 and NVDA 2020.3 or later.

Cheers,

Joseph

I have recently updated the Quick Dictionary add-on:
* thanks to your tips - we were able to setup a free and convenient keyboard shortcut for the add-on (now used NVDA+Y);
* code of the Settings Panel has been optimized;
* updated ReadMe;
* corrected errors in Ukrainian translation;
* added russian translation.

Hi everyone,

Because we sell the training material and exam, we did not want to put that on an open platform for anyone to access like we have with NVDA itself.  We are interested in working with people to translate the training material particularly.  I will write to Afik offlist to look at how we might be able to work together for the Hebrew community.

Kind regards

Quentin.

You can talk with NV Access about the possibility of translate, send a email to info@... or write a message by Facebook or Twitter (is possible that Quentin or other member of the organization read your message in the list now).

The community of NVDA in Spanish (www.nvda.es) go to translate the exam to Spanish, after of the translation of the books available in the NVAccess Shop, for example.

You need the authorization of NV Access for this.

Hi

Have you tried the following site at https://translate.google.com/#en/mi/

You can translate say from english to another language  and I think it can go back the other way as well..

I just can not remember if the certification is a web page and if it changes the address all the time as there are 13 pages or so. It might make it tricky as it is time limited.

is there not some where in google chrome where you can also set the language so if it is in english you can specify the language you want it to change to? I do see some times before you go into a web page it will give you a option to have it translated into your language like in my case english.

NVDA 2020.3 Beta 4 now available

Quentin Christensen

Good morning everyone,

NVDA 2020.3 Beta 4 is now available for download and testing. For anyone who is interested in trying out what the next version of NVDA has to offer before it is officially released, we welcome you to download the beta and provide feedback.

Changes since Beta3:

- “Automatic focus mode for caret movement” setting is now compatible with disabling “Automatically set focus to focusable elements”.
- Reverted change to SAPI5 synth driver which introduced regressions.
- Updated translations for many languages.

Also please note, it hasn't gotten a mention in the highlights so far, but NVDA 2020.3 also includes an update to eSpeak-NG.  So those who use that synthesizer, please do also consider trying it out.

More info and download links from: https://www.nvaccess.org/post/nvda-2020-3beta4/

Kind regards

Quentin.
