What do you mean by with a screen-reader? any
browser that supports browse mode, as NVDA calls it, or the virtual pc cursor,
as JAWS calls it, uses exactly the same commands for moving around pages and
reading them.
Control l is used to move you to the address bar
for typing an address.
Alt b opens the book marks menu.
Control h opens history. Control j opens the downloads dialog where you can see the progress of a
download and do other things regarding downloads.
there is a lot of standardization among popular browsers used by blind
people. Most of these commands such as control j and control h work in
Chrome. The command to open book marks is different. Also the
interface for history and downloads is different. But for much of what
people do, they will find things identical or nearly identical.
That's why its unfortunat that so many people are so unwilling to even try
another browser. Internet Explorer is going to work on increasingly fewer
web pages and this has already started. Isn't it better to try a new
browser before you are under pressure to do so?

There may be settings you want to change, such as
related to book marks and other things but there are no settings related to
performance with screen-readers that need to be changed.

I'm Cuong from Vietnam, and I'll share info about UniKey program. First, the correct spelling for Vietnamese typing Program is UniKey, not Unikey. FYI, the program is quite accessible, and it usually set to start automatically when Windows start. Almost its settings just do once, then blind, or sighted people just turn on there computer and type Vietnamese as anytime. This require NVDA users to turn off the Handle keys from other applications option in keyboard settings. Cuong

How should it be pronounced? Don't worry
about placing a mark in the pronounced as name. Write the name as you want
it pronounced/ Is it pronounced be lanna or be lana or in some other
way? Write pronounced as fields in any way that gives the correct
pronounciation. At times, I put a space in a pronounced as
rendering.

dictionary First of all, I should point out I haven't updated to 2019.3 yet because I've not checked in here in a while and don't know for sure if updating from 2019.2.1 breaks anything I don't want broken/will yell at me for having incompatible addons installed. I'm terrible at checking my emails and I'm sorry. But I'm having an issue changing a pronunciation and it's bugging me. I'm a Star Trek: Voyager fan, and one character, B'Elanna Torres, has her name spelled as shown here. Except on some websites the apostrophe is turned into a "Right Single Quote". I had fixed the pronunciation for her name years ago, but when I discovered this phenomenon today, I tried to fix it. The literal only difference is the punctuation. I tried making its own entry and adding the same replacement to it. That didn't work. I tried making it case-sensitive. That also did not work. I tested to make sure the dictionary itself wasn't acting up, and another test entry worked just fine. I even tried replacing the single quote with a normal apostrophe and it didn't work. What am I doing wrong?
