The main benefit of the addon is that it automatically mutes and unmutes NVDA as you shift focus to and away from the self voicing aspects of Speak ON.

Work Around For Excel Latest Version With NVDA And New Interface for File Importation

I had requested some help on several lists as to the new more graphical data importation interface within Excel latest version. It is very graphical and neither JAWS or NVDA works well with it. The work around is to use the 'legacy wizard system.' To do this you Press alt + A for data, tab once to the list of choices, press enter and then arrow down to legacy wizard and press enter. You get a choice of several. Choose the desired legacy wizard interface and the old dialogue type interface launches. There are a series of associated hotkeys to accomplish this, but I haven't memorized them yet. When it gets to the application of multiple hotkeys to the level of 5 or 6, I find it almost easier to use the ribbon interface to navigate to the proper item. ...Oh for the good old days of menus and dialogues! -- They Ask Me If I'm Happy; I say Yes. Thanks once more Joseph. I did just that. Result: with no add-ons enabled, everything’s perfect, no crash at all. With only a few add-ons enabled, the crash happens but later in time, about two minutes after logon, and it’s independent of what I am doing. With all add-ons enabled, it happens right after logon, just after NVDA starts for the first time and says “taskbar”. I suppose this is complicated, maybe I should learn to live with it, I’ve bothered you enough already. Thousands of thanks indeed!

Thanks once more Joseph. I did just that. Result: with no add-ons enabled, everything’s perfect, no crash at all. With only a few add-ons enabled, the crash happens but later in time, about two minutes after logon, and it’s independent of what I am doing. With all add-ons enabled, it happens right after logon, just after NVDA starts for the first time and says “taskbar”. I suppose this is complicated, maybe I should learn to live with it, I’ve bothered you enough already. Thousands of thanks indeed!

People have different benefits of running a remote server, some because they're managing a sizable internal network. However, a couple of years ago, nvdaremote.com was quite often offline, and the remote access was a necessity for the work I was doing at the time, so I couldn't aford to not have access for long periods of time. Apologies, I realise now I didn’t tell everything. That crash only happens once after restart. If I try to launch NVDA again, it runs perfectly well without any flaws. But as soon as I restart, it’s first run goes south again, only once. Am I making more sense?
