First, I am, by no means, a windows genius. But, for me, NVDA stopped reading the file explorer folders, after I reset my file explorer settings. Have you, by any chance, been changing file explorer controls? If not, it will most likely not apply. Sent from a Braille Sense

Laptop acting weird?
Matt Turner
Hi folks, having a strange problem.
When i try to access files in the downloads folder, or for any other folder, i can't see them. Going into the downloads folder, i hear something about file explorer. All i can see is the search box, and the Details, and large icons thing. I no there's stuff in the folders, but i can't see them for some reason. This just happens.

Brandon Bracey
https://github.com/Technow-es/NVDARemoteServer There are instructions there. Google for the requirements under
windows section install, and follow those instructions. I've used
this on ubuntu and it works great. Brandon

You can install the portable over the NVDA, and the portable rewrite the old NVDa with his configuration. Cheers Salva

i use skype 6.21 with nvda 2015.4 and i dont have any problem. if you check accessibility in skype settings, skype works well with nvda and you dont need to install any addons or other programs to make it accessible for nvda. and also skype is better supported if you install skype version 7 and nvda has many keys to supports it better. God bless you.

in the preferences and then general options, make shure that Save configuration on exit is checked (which is checked by default) after exiting nvda, you have all settings and configurations that you set before. but if you make portable version of nvda and then install it in different computers, also you can transfer all of your preferences to other systems. hope that help. thanks and God bless you.
