Joseph and community, it's really quite refreshing to read such emails. Hi everyone,
About fifteen minutes ago, a good Samaritan sent in the exact amount needed to fully fund DictationBridge, a module to allow NVDA and other screen readers to work with Windows Speech Recognition and Dragon Naturally Speaking.
Thanks. Cheers, Joseph

It's really heart-warming to see that there are still such generous people around. Thanks to the Good Samaritan, and also thanks to all that contributed with whatever amount they could chip in... And, of course, thanks for the devs and all people who are committed to make this project a reality. Ciao, Ollie

Hello, everyone. A few weeks ago I posted a message explaining that my vocalizer voices were not working with my copy of NVDA. I also stated that the support that I was receiving from Tiflotecnia (who support Vocalizer ) was poor. I would like to publicly thank Rui Fontes from Tiflotecnia who has just fixed my problem by remotely connecting to laptop and sorting it out. It is really appreciated. Thanks

Issue With Weather Add On And Barometric Redings
Ron Canazzi
Hi Group,
Since the last few updates to the Weather Add on, the barometric readings in inches have been hopelessly wrong. They are from between one half and three quarters of an inch low. It may be something in the translation or conversion from KP to MM/inches of mercury, but whatever the case, it is way off. Who could be contacted for this issue? -- They Ask Me If I'm Happy; I say Yes. They ask: "How Happy are You?" I Say: "I'm as happy as a stow away chimpanzee on a banana boat!"

I did try Alva, the first item in the Braille menu, but it just says "Braille error," etc. I have the older Alva. Thanks.

Hi Angela, and the rest
I am a fulltime user of NVDA, with no other speech program on my machines, both desktop and laptop.
I am a teacher at the Institute for the Blind in Worcester, South Africa and we also use NVDA 2016.2 on our machines with WINDOWS 10 and office 2010. We are extremely satisfied.
By the way, the name of our Institute has changed and this institution is now known as Kaleidoscope SA.
Enjoy NVDA Regards

Hi! What's the problem with NVDA-s own drivers for Alva? In the
braille-menu Alva is the first selection. Why dont use it instead
of brltty?

NVDA and Alva Satellite Braille Display
Nightowl <nightowl145@...>
Hi,
I have an Alva Satellite Braille display, the one
with a serial ports and a couple of USB ports. I am still having trouble getting
it to work with NVDA. I installed Brltty and chose Alva and USB. I answered "no"
when asked whether to install lib-usb. Still, my Alva displays "Waiting for
connection". I don't know what I have done wrong - wrong usb cable, wrong usb
port, or what.
If anyone has managed to get the Alva to work
successfully with NVDA, I would be grateful for step by step instruction. I
cannot upgrade the Alva at the moment.
Thanks.
