Yes, sometimes firefox just takes ages to load and sometimes if you load things up in quick succession it will crash and die.

Other times it will just run. In between all this instability, it is actually still a stable product. Now if it goes really bad, I am not sure what I will do, its got a good extention security and other things in its favor and I really don't want to scrap it.

Yes but that is such a broad question that there is
no way to give more than a general answer. I seldom use Audacity but, as
with so many other programs, a lot of Audacity commands are program commands,
not NVDA commands. If you know them, you can use Audacity. If you
have specific questions about how to do specific things, asking them may yield
answers. for example, if you want to kno how to read specific information
on the screen, someone may be able to answer. It may involve using NVDA
screen review commands.

I have the same issue on two machines running windows 7 home premium 64 bit
and firefox 46.1. It makes firefox virtually unusable most of the
time. I have had this since January but can’t determine a pattern that
would help developers address the issue.

Have also tried turning off/on the F123 add-on, in

Could also maybe try uninstalling both F123 and
webvisum add-ons, in case, their form of interaction, etc. might be causing
hassles, but, thought might as well ask here if anyone has ideas on what to
try?
And, when I say locking up, at times, it won't help
alt-tabbing away from firefox to another app, since NVDA will stay quiet, but,
funny enough what seems to help the quickest is to launch narrator, using
windows key + enter key, since this is on my windows 10 64 bit

Do you think there might be something useful in the
NVDA log - NVDA + F1 right after NVDA starts speaking again?
Alternatively, any other thoughts/suggestions on
what to try get rid of this - besides browsing web content often enough, my
primary job is as a web developer, so I have to spend a lot of time
testing/trying out various bits of my own code output in a browser, and firefox
is my favourite for that part of it thus far, although I do, at times use both
google chrome and IE11 - that one crashes on it's own way too often to be any
form of feasible alternative, but, that's probably due to it not really being
meant to be used under windows 10 as such?

Announcement: Free live tech support via Skype users group between June 13th and August 12th
Ladies and gentlemen,
For years, this list and other forums have served as a great tech support venue for many. I’m sure many of us wanted to match the person and their voice at times, or wished you could have a tech support experience similar to other screen reader companies.
That’s why I’m delighted to announce that, starting from June 13th and running for the next two months, I’ll be holding free, live tech support on NVDA and related topics via Skype users group (established about a month ago). Not only you’ll get a chance to talk to one or more NVDA developers (one of them actually living in America), you’ll also get a chance to receive hands-on training, participate in live feature demos, join the developer in his lab as he cooks up interesting features, and get a backstage tour of internals of various NVDA features. And the best thing is, it’s all free.
Important notes: · This will be done via NVDA users Skype group. · The developer will be in his office during weekdays (two or three times a week). · Tech support office hours will vary (aiming at between 11 AM to 3 PM Pacific (2 to 6 PM Eastern and elsewhere)), likely between 12 to 3 PM Pacific. · Tech support services will include answering questions, live demos, programming feature suggestions on the fly (if it is doable), and remote diagnostics and assistance via NVDA Remote Support add-on (user consent required). · Tech support hours will be posted on Twitter (for the most part). · If you don’t have Skype, the developer is willing to meet you via TeamTalk.
Thank you. Cheers, joseph

Joslee's add-ons chat: June 18th at 11 AM Pacific via TeamTalk
Hi all,
For users of my add-ons: I’d like to propose that we meet for an informal chat on June 18th at 11 AM Pacific at NVDACon TeamTalk (the one where we held our immediate past NVDACon). Users of the following add-ons are invited: · Control Usage Assistant · Easy Table Navigator · Enhanced Touch Gestures · GoldWave · Resource Monitor · StationPlaylist Studio · Windows 10 App Essentials
If you are curious about what these add-ons do, you are more than welcome to join us.
Hope to see you on June 18th. Cheers, Joseph

Also, if you haven't done so, trying Firefox on many sites you use might produce surprising results. You might find that Firefox is faster on enough sites that you might want to use it as your main browser. I'm not saying you will. But I'm saying that you may and that that was my experience.
Also, Firefox has more plugins and one or two features you may value once you try them such as the document reader feature in the view menu. When you are on a page that contains an article, you will find article view in the view menu. Press enter on it and see what happens. You will automatically leave article view, as I recall, when you open another page. It eliminates a great deal of extraneous text on pages with articles.

Re: NVDA keeps announcing "Pane"!
Brian's Mail list account BY <bglists@...>
Sometimes this can be due to some invisible window being present. I used to get this a lot with a particular anti virus product which I don't think is still made.
toggle quoted messageShow quoted text
It hadd some kind of proxy server sitting over the program and the internet connection and when it put messages up, it left an apparently open full screen window behind. Mouse users never saw it of course as if you click the item it goes through, but with a screenreader you find that this is not possible of course. Maybe the spam program you are using?? I've never tried it. However sometimes some browsers can end up with the current window not detected which gives the same error, indeed, Outlook express can do this when you switch identities, but in this case you cannot get focus back without restarting Outlook Express. This program issue when used with nvda has been around for years but is so unpredictable its hard to troubleshoot, and may not be fixable. Brian bglists@blueyonder.co.uk Sent via blueyonder.
