Re: Moving over to/focusing on web-page contents after having loaded a page in google chrome
Kenny Dog <hurrikennyandopo@...>
Hi
The best browser that should be used if using google chrome is this one at present. it can be found at http://google-chrome-canary.en.softonic.com/ From what I have been told it goes into this one first then goes down to the chrome browser later in updates etc You can notice the difference between the 2 if you test them both out. Google chrome when the page loads seems to get stuck before the content, and usually tabbing a couple of times will put you onto the content. You will notice the difference between the 2, but from what I have heard should be fixed up before long in the google chrome browser. Yet you do not have the problem in the google chrome Canary browser. It seems to work ok for most people needs. Gene nz On 26/05/2016 12:00 PM, Gene wrote:

Re: Moving over to/focusing on web-page contents after having loaded a page in google chrome
Gene
I'm not sure what you are describing. When I
use Chrome, which I don't use for regular browsing, Often all I see is the title
bar with the name of the web page. I may be able to get the page to
display by opening and then closing a new tab. I may have to completely
reload the page. I'm not sure if that is the problem you are
describing. I don't know how many people have this problem. But I do
and it is one reason I wouldn't consider using Chrome as my main browser.
Other reasons are how many things display as a web
page. It is far more convenient to have such things display as lists or
dialogs. Even Firefox, which has made things in the options dialog
function like a web page, still has the items organized as lists you can arrow
down.
Also, it appears to me that lots of menu items
don't have shortcuts as has been standard in Windows programs for years. I
haven't found a short cut combination for something as important as book
marks. And I've seen other menu items with no short cuts. This sort
of thing after all these years of Google working on making chrome accessible are
singularly unimpressive.

This is one of the strangest PDF files I've ever encountered being that it is entirely in typed English text but appears to be saved in some very odd PDF format. I cannot get OCR to run on the file downloaded from the provided link in any way that gets me text, and for something I can read in text on the screen this is unprecedented. There is an odd object at the beginning of the file which is called a pop-up note that just contains, "Welcome, May 16." If there is another version of this file that's downloadable I can try again. I'm not willing to type the whole thing out. If you know who created it, it's incredibly likely that it started out life as a Word document or could be saved in an alternative format by its creator. NVDA and Blogger?
David Russell
Hi NVDA Users,
I blog using blogspot.com, and recently set up things to have a guest poster. I made an error in providing Blogger the email address, leaving out the country identifier after dot com. Now, when I try to get into settings, a forum field opens and as I forward tab, setting links are read but not accessible when pressing enter. Is there away to use NVDA to refresh a blog in the same manner one may refresh their browser? I did send in a feedback report but have heard nothing back in the two days proceeding that. Re: looking for pls or m3u file of a radio station stream
Gene
Most stations these days broadcast in Flash and/or
HtML5. Saving such links won't direct you to the actual underlying
stream. There is an underlying stream but the listen links on most station
web sites direct you to the flash or HTMl5 stream, or they are links that open
your browser and cause it to follow scripts to the Flash content.
Sometimes, right clicking and saving links won't work at all because the site
doesn't support saving such links.

Very often, you can just do a right click on the listen link and then choose save link as and 9 times out of 10 it will save a .pls or .m3u file for you. The file may not be labeled correctly and may just say listen.pls or something like that. Just rename it and save it where you'll know where it is and you're good to go.
