Re: Saving NVDA Configuration Settings
Jolene Cardenas
Hello Gene,
Thank you so much for your detailed response! I just checked the settings now and ESpeak is my synth, but there's another choice besides No Speak: Microsoft Speech (something) 5. Yes, I did uninstall and then reinstall NVDA and had actually removed the NVDA files from my Profile subfolders before reinstalling it, thinking that that would make the reinstall a clean one, but it didn't work. As for setting NVDA back to defalt once I reinstalled it, I didn't try it yet but will do so tomorrow morning (Hawaii Time) and see if it would work. I sure hope it does! Take care, and have a good day. aloha, Jolene.

Re: accessible recording software
Jolene Cardenas
hello Dan,
Thank you for the query, for I believe I was one of those members who was looking for it. I got pretty confused with all the responses and responses TO responses regarding it, but I'm still gonna keep on looking for one that would work with NVDA and Windows 10, maybe not perfectly but at least much of the time. Thank you for the link to Virtual Recorder, though, and I'll read the documentation and technical specs on it first before deciding whether I wish to test it out or not. Have a good day. aloha, Jolene.

Yet I don't understand why it won't play Webcasts on some sites but not others--especially the 2 I had shared--and I'm missing out on my local news and weather so much and have been for, well, almost a month now! If a major earthquake was to hit the Alleutian Islands and generate a big tsunami for the Hawaiian Islands, for instance, I'd be sorely uninformed. As far as time zones go, Hawaii is 3 hours behind Pacific Time: California, Oregon, the state of Washington, etc., so I don't know if Adobe Flash Player's weird behavior is caused by this or not. Anyway, thanks so much for the responses! aloha, Jolene.

Just to clarify, it took several hours before that email appeared in my inbox.
So, that tells me, form email or not, someone did read it and now they are aware of the problem if they weren't before. I feel confident that the problem will be fixed, eventually. I am certainly not going to gripe about the amount of time it may take to fix the problem since I have no idea how to fix the problem, or in fact, what is wrong in the first place. they could have ignored the email. accessible recording software
To all listers
Not sure, but sounds like some of our members are looking for an accessible program that could record sound from microphone and computer as the same time. If so, you can use a free software named Virtual Recorder from http://opopanax.net/download/ Tried with nvDA, and see it quite accessible. Re: NVDA and Itunes 12.4.0.119
It is a autoresponder, its a standard boilerplate message.
toggle quoted messageShow quoted text
What this message actually means is that the server has recieved the message and nothing more. What you will need to wait is for an actual responce and be mindfull that the message is in a cue. Often when I send a message to say a support site I get that sort of thing saying its behing worked on. Its just an autoresponder crap message telling me that its in the cue of things. I recieve usually a responce in 24 hours or so, thats another thing if the responder states how much time it should take for a message to get through to an responce then that is what it does.

Re: Adobe Flash Player with NVDA
To be honest I havn't had issue, but I have tried say to update flash or shockwave and such, and well it works, thing is if it works for some sites and not others than its the sites rendering of flash which is bad.

Saying that, html5 is what a lot of things support now or at least should do so or direct playback via audio players.

Re: NVDA 2016.2
Hi, Based on results we’re seeing, it appears RC1 will be out sometime this week, and if no problems are seen, we’ll see 2016.2 official version next week. At the moment some developers (including I) are working on laying foundation for 2016.3 (I’m working on enhanced Windows 10 support (including that of Redstone) and support for BrailleNote QT and Apex BT scroll wheel). Cheers, Joseph

Looking for some volunteer testers to test NVDA's support for BrailleNote QT and Apex BT scroll wheel
Hi all,
For those who don’t know: I am one of those responsible for bringing BrailleNote support to NVDA. As part of the latest work, I’m looking for volunteers using either a BrailleNote QT or an Apex BT to test NVDA’s support for both models. Specifically, I’m looking for people who are thinking about using BrailleNote QT with NVDA and Apex BT users to test QT command support and scroll wheel support, respectively.
Once I talk to some volunteers, I’ll be sending out a third-party NVDA snapshot containing the following: · Support for using BrailleNote QT native commands in terminal mode (at least basic mode, not PC keyboard emulation) when using it as a braille display under NVDA. · Using scroll wheel in terminal mode with NVDA. Once tests shows it is working as advertised, I’ll send my code in so it can be included in NVDA 2016.3 at the earliest. Thanks. Cheers, Joseph
