NVDA remote
Hi, So, I installed the remote add on, but I'm clueless on how to get started using it, mainly configuring the host name and key, and how to allow a computer to be controlled. How do I configure the add on to enable remote functionality?

I could not seem to join I opened the url in ff and I think I hit the join button, got a message saying if your not getting anything happening click the web link I did and it seemed to join me but I don't see anything in my skype contacts thanks in advance for any advice given.

Important (reply offlist please): NVDACon International 2016/Tenth Anniversary Edition: second half, invitation to attend keynote presentation
Ladies and gentlemen,
This is Joseph Lee, the chair of the NVDA tenth anniversary planning committee. I’d like to give you some status report on happenings at NVDACon 2016 and to cordially invite you to join us for the second half of this conference.
So far, the conference attendees had a chance to meet authors of their favorite add-ons, learned how awareness of NVDA makes a difference in workplaces, got a sneak preview of Dictation Bridge and more. We also heard from people such as Sean Randall, Dave Williams and others, as well as to chat with Fernando and mark, the developers of F123 Access, as well as to get a glimpse of what’s involved when writing NVDA add-ons.
But the conference doesn’t stop there: the second half is just a few hours away, and the second part starts with an introductory session on NVDA for those using other screen readers. Following that, we’ll have an exciting session on NVDA’s support for math, get a chance to learn about braille support and get a chance to talk to the gentlemen behind NVDA’s inception and history (Michael Curran and James Teh) as part of the keynote presentation.

well now we have one of those to its good to expand our communications. We should add this group with all our other community groups for nvda, win10 and its subs etc to the community pages under lists or groups or something I don't know but we should add all these things somewhere.

The intention is for those in need of help to get that help from those who choose to volunteer. Mainly you, the users who need help we are willing and ready to help. The group is a jumping off point, I would imagine most situations requiring voice calls and that can be done as well. can also be used if you'd like to get help over that rather than skype call. The rules are simple, just be respectful to one another and don't troll or spam. There are two mods and if you want to know who is who you can type /getmembers in the chat to find out. If one of us asks you to desist from a behavior, please do so immediately. We don't wish to resort to bans, kicks or anything of the like, let's all be civilized. OK good that's out of the way. Yes indeed, I think there are almost as meny Espeak lovers as haters. and as has been said many times, the voice one usees is very very personal. Just listen to the range on some of the cool blind tech podcasts to hear this.

My position however is that the current default for new users seems to be not really that good. I should have said that I would expect that this is in Windows 10 because Edge is not available in earlier versions of Windows. It appears now that the problem may exist in Internet Explorer regardless of version of Windows. However, this has evidently not been tested in Windows 8.
