Re: Silent speech on outlook message list

It was reported from 1 or 2 users in Office 2016, however I never could reproduce it in Office 2013, 2016 2019 and 365.

Subject: [nvda] Silent speech on outlook message list

Hi all

I know this has been reported before, however can somebody please clarify which versions of either NVDA, Windows, or outlook this affects?

The issue is that NVDA’s speech is silent when moving through the message list in a populated inbox in outlook. It only occurs on certain setups – I was hoping for a quick clarification on where this issue is present.

Thanks

Hi
I don't think there is an equivalent of the Jaws F8 to select a table. To get feedback on cell co-ordinates, press NVDA+Ctrl+d to open the Document Formatting settings and check the appropriate box.

Cheers
Chris

Hi Everyone

Although I installed NVDA some time ago, I have not used it very much but have had occasion to do so lately.

Is there an easy way of selecting a table on a web page? for example, like F8 in JAWS?

Is there a way to configure NVDA so that it displays the cell reference in Excel? At the moment I just see "Cell" which is not very helpful.

Thanks

Hello all.

I haven’t installed SPL for quite some time so I’m at a loss.

When entering the serial number and code in the SPL registration field, do I need to insert dashes and spaces; or are they automatically placed where they should be?

Thanks in advance for any help.

except this does not answer the original posters question. On mac os I can hit space and hear the video, skim through it, read a word document, listen to an audio file. You cannot do this in windows. I cannot hit space on a word doc or video and know, this is right or no this is not what I'm looking for.

Thanks, it is a step forward in the right direction.

I discovered that—taking a detour—I can obtain information about size and type of file, date of origin and date last accessed, etc., by opening toe context menu and scrolling up once to learn about specific details of a file. It is doable but does not save time.

Moreover, with “report tooltip” turned on, I temporarily see the information I asked about. However, it does not display long enough for me to catch the details I am looking for. Is there a setting to control it?

Is there a app or addon accessible with NVDA that would let me preview a file without properly opening it.

I know mac \OS letw you preview pdfs, documents, video and audio files in the file viewer. Something like that for windows 10 usable with \NVDA would be fantastic.

I see explorer has a preview pane but it doesnt seem to be accessible unfortunately...

Kind Regards,

Sam

Hello,

one thing that constantly annoys me is when I am looking for a concrete file like a word document, I have to open the up in word  or the respective application to take a look at the contents.

Kind Regards,
Sam

Re: BrailleNote Touch Plus Not Connecting Via Bluetooth

I tried forgetting and re-pairing the device yesterday, but it didn't work. In the braille preferences, I had it set to automatic. So, I selected BrailleNote Touch or something like that from the menu of available displays, and it said it couldn't load the display.

As I was writing this reply on my BrailleNote Touch Plus, it occurred to me that maybe there's another category in that menu that includes the Plus model that I might have missed. So, I switched to the braille terminal and started my computer, and what do you know? The BrailleNote Touch Plus  connected without me having to do a thing more. It's working fine now as I write this. I guess I should have re-started the computer yesterday when it wouldn't connect. Sorry for the false alarm. It's been one of those weeks.
