Thanks for suggesting Bulk Crap Uninstaller: this for me works better than Revo Uninstaller. It is fully accessible from its panel, startup manager and all menu items. Plus it has a bulk uninstall mode that makes life simple.

Here is the link to its homepage: http://klocmansoftware.weebly.com/

Thanks once again,

Hello,
Microsoft were fined ten thousand dollars for an unwanted upgrade to a travel agent’s system  in late June, for anyone interested type “microsoft law suit” in your browser’s search box.
Maybe it will stop Microsoft from doing any unwanted upgrades in future?

Best Regards, Jim.

Wait, I haven't read many emails about this so I'm more than a bit concerned. Is this update going to be forced on us like the initial one? Can never10 or the WGX Control Panel block it? I don't want Windows 10 until I have no other choice, and if I update my system and suddenly it's being downloaded again...

Hi,
I have two questions.
1. When will NVDA 2016.3 be released?
2. In his podcast, Joseph said that the anniversary updates will be
released in waves. Does anyone know what the time frame for that is?

Hi Marv

If it is an older laptop, it would be advisable to upgrade to 7, because 10 may be too system intensive

Hi, Chris,

Did you try hitting insert down-arrow to read a document? I don't know why NVDA isn't seeing the cursor.

Does this happen in general or in a specific program?  Control home is supposed to move the cursor.  It's a Windows command that moves the application cursor.  NVDA should track the cursor.  If it isn't and it isn't doing so in general, I don't know why.

Hi Christo

In the next day or so maybe earlier hopefully I will  upload   it to my website what is done so far.  There is about 3 pages left to edit   then upload it in a html format to my website at http://www.accessibilitycentral.netThe page the tutorial will be linked to will be the nvda tutorials for other programs page.

I was not sure how much to put into it it is more to get some one up and running like i did with power point 2010.

I can let you know when it goes up and what it is called. There is about 10 pages or is it more plus shortcuts for power word 1010 and 2013 which will be linked to a dropbox account.

Hi Christo

I have the same version of microsoft word. I also tried the same sequence for word 2010, but not the earlier version.

I can confirm what you said for the 2010 version. some times it works and other times it does not. It seems to be on how quick or slow I do it wheather it wants to do it or not.

the word around that seem to work is a couple of extra steps.

Press the ALT key + letter N, then H. This will land you on a bland header. Shift tab a couple of times until you get to the part where it says edit the header then press the enter key make your changes then press enter key then the escape key. Doing it this way I can edit the header and change it if I want to .

I am learning my self how to do it so have been putting together a basic tutorial on using the basics of word and putting in a header and footer and editing them is part of it.

Hopefully the above helps.

I did not try it with a master snapshot it might of been fixed in that?:?

We have a problem with editing a header in MS Word. If you press the Office 2010 sequence, ALT, N, H, E, NVDA falls silent. It refuses to speak even after you pressed escape. If you make use of the 2003 sequence, ALT+V, H, there is no problem.

Could someone please assist us?

Ok, here you go.
1. Fire up the setup.exe file.
2. After the introductory screen, you have a series of radio buttons. Install from internet. Download without installing. And install from local directory. You, being a first time user, will probably want Install from Internet.
3. Next you pick your install directory; c:\cygwin or c:\cygwin64 by default.
4. Next you Pick your local pcakcage directory. This is where the packages are downloaded to; and you can install from it at a later time without redownloading.
5. Next you set your connection type. Pick the one that is applicable for your situation.
5. Next you will have to pick a mirror site. There's a lot of them; pick one from the list and then press enter.
6. Now here's the dialog Tyler was talking about. Here you have a series of radio buttons. Curr, exp, and keep. You want Curr.
7. Now you need to use your object navigation. Hit NVDA+numpad 6 until you hear NVDA say "list."
8. Now, use numpad 9 to read through the list that contains the package categories. To see what packages are in a given category, use NVDA+numpad slash to root your mouse pointer to it, and click the first letter of the category name. Then use numpad 9 again to read through the packages in that category. Click on the skip item to cycle a package from being not installed (skip) to install. When a package is set to install, the size in Kb will be announced instead of the word skip. Click the first letter of the category, once more, to hide the list of packages.
10. To install a given category, use your NVDA+numpad slash to root your pointer to the word default. Click that until you hear install.
11. Go through all the packages and categories you wish to install and then hit next. You will get a dialog asking about dependencies; let setup handle them all and you should be fine.
The rest should be self explanatory. Go and have a cup of coffee; this process takes a while. You can then launch cygwin terminal from your desktop after it's installed. You'll get a message about copying skeleton files, and then you're all set up.

You can go back to the old version.  See this page:

I don't know if you have to uninstall the new version first.  Therefore, just to be safe, I think you should.  Always keep and back up installers for everything you install in case you need them again and don't get rid of them unless you know you will never use them.
