Re: Issues With Number Processing or Display On Creative Labs Web Page

No, screen-readers should not change text by placing something there that is not there.  If a screen-reader can be made to identify and read whatever is therre, that's fine.  But a screen-reader should be able to be relied on by the user to accurately reflect what it is aware of on the screen.  Reformatting a web page in the MSAA buffer is fine.  But reformatting doesn't add material to what is read.  It is a violation of the trust one puts in screen-readers if they add something that isn't there and make it appear as though it actually is.

Well without  decimal points a thing most readers have been trained to
read for years those prices will never be read right.
The only way I think it will ever work short of modifying all synth
dictionaries at once, that this coding needs to be added into an addon
for nvda to put points where there should be.
Now this won't be acurate by any stretch in fact there will be probably
more problems with points in the wrong place but its better there than not.
In ie this ofcause never happens but with something like firefox it does.

Visual Studio add-on.

Pawel Urbanski <pawel@...>

Dear Group,
I am currently working using Visual Studio 2015 - the latest update.
Since Microsoft introduced the Visual Studio Community edition, which
used to be Professional edition, we got a very nice IDE.
There is an NVDA add-on, which is installed by default that enhances
NVDA and VS interoperability.
The features are rather complete, but I found 2 issues:
1. When Intelisense with code suggestions popup is read, NVDA keeps
reading the number of items in a edit combo / list, which can get very
annoying / flustrating.
--- What is the way using code to silence reading this attribute? NVDA
has the opption of not reading item possition information. Can we
apply it to individual controls?

2. When leaving the previously mentioned Intelisense popup, NVDA keeps
reading the window type / title, which is way too verbose when you are
coding and keep jumping from the editor to Intelisense all the time.
--- Can we control this from the add-on code?

I am not familiar with Python on the daily basis, but can find someone
to fix the code or do it myself if the changes are minor and can
simply follow the documentation and do little trial and error.

Thanks for any hints and tips,
Pawel

Re: is BlueStacks accessible with NVDA?

mohammad suliman

Hi,
If you still need help with that, the answer is yes. But you need to install google play store and then talkback from what i heard. To do this, you can ask for sited help if available. Another option is to get a configuration file which installs talkback and play store. This option doesn't require a sited help. Unfortunately i don't have that file, you can ask for it on eyes free group, think someone can provide it there

I concur with Gene but wanted to run tests to see if there were any possible way this problem could occur with a typical setup across environments.  I left my subscription set at e-mail overnight and I have only single copies of every single message, and my own are not being mailed back to me except in the form of bottom quoting by others.  Everything is in sync across Gmail web interface, smartphone Gmail, and MS Outlook 2010.

Something is set up incorrectly "post-groups" if consistent duplication is being received.  I have seen instances of this in the past when people have forwarding set up on two e-mail addresses where each forwards to the other.  The e-mail servers stop "infinite" forwarding but will do an initial forward from each e-mail.  There can also be all sorts of weirdness if one or more devices uses IMAP access and another one or more uses POP.

Whatever this is, it's not Gmail and it's not Groups.io.  I can't be any more specific than that with the information available.

Hello:

It appears that the first set of numbers is some kind if internal product number/code.  The second set of numbers is the correct price.

Thanks for your reply. Yes, I extracted the tar.gc successfully with 7zip.
Afterwards, I have to install python?
Which version is recommended? I saw that there are both 2.7xxx and 3.5xxxxavailable on official web site.

tar.gz is indeed very commonly used on Linux machines, however it's far from
"for Linux only".

The Windows archiving program 7-Zip for example, can quite happily deal with
this format of archive, and if the content is a Python program, it can be run
on any machine with a Python interpreter - it won't be specific to Linux,
Windows, OS X, or anything else.

I have no information on whether the program URLwatch itself is accessible
once you're able to run it, though.

I see it using an older version of NVDA and an older version of Firefox.  I haven't tested with current browsers and current screen-readers.

I don't know why this is the case when I saw one number displayed correctly with a decimal point where it should be.  I don't know what a sighted person sees but if you are curious enough, you might want to look at the source and see if the numbers read correctly or if you find a possible explanation when looking at the numbers there..
