I very seldom need to look at message header contents (which is not to say that this should be the case for anyone else) but I tend to use "View Source" and just search when I do. When playing with NVDA in Thunderbird using the View All setting for headers, along with the Focus Highlight add-on, it looks like NVDA is staying in focus mode on all items as I go through the headers and I can't get it to switch over to browse mode or read the actual header content, just the header label. I am uncertain as to whether this is an NVDA issue or a Thunderbird issue. -- Brian - Windows 10 Pro, 64-Bit, Version 1909, Build 18363 Power is being told you're not loved and not being destroyed by it. ~ Madonna

Re: problem with turning on and off sticky keys
In Settings, Ease of Access, Keyboard Pane, there are two checkboxes associated with Sticky Keys, the first of which relates to getting or not getting the prompt you describe and the second of which relates to the on/off toggle tone.
But, these are not in the Sticky Keys cluster itself, but in a category at the end of the pane, Make it easier to type. Screen reader searching on Sticky Keys should eventually land you on it. -- Brian - Windows 10 Pro, 64-Bit, Version 1909, Build 18363 Power is being told you're not loved and not being destroyed by it. ~ Madonna

Re: Bluetooth hearing aid lag on Windows 10 with NVDA.
Daniel,
I'll have to try later today with my hearing aids to see if this occurs. That being said, are your device drivers absolutely up to date for your sound card on the Win10 machine? That's another thing to check. -- Brian - Windows 10 Pro, 64-Bit, Version 1909, Build 18363 Power is being told you're not loved and not being destroyed by it. ~ Madonna

When I would turn on and off sticky keys I use to get a sound but now I get a prompt to turn them on . How do I make sure the sound is there?

I am not familiar with this kind of setup, but might unpairing and re-pairing do the trick? Do you have other devices connected (using Bluetooth) to your PC, e.g., a Braille display?

Hello everyone,
I am currently am trying out a new hearing aid called the phonak Marvel. It has Bluetooth and I can connect this to my iPhone, Mac, and Windows 10. however, when i am connected to Windows 10 with NVDA, I have noticed that it have really really bad lag when the screenreader speaks. All first character or word is chopped off. Typing is almost impossible due to it is not spoken. It seems like as soon the TTS stop speaking, it goes into standby. However, my IPhone and mac does not have this problem. I have tried the addon for Bluetooth to stay connected, and I have not noticed a difference.
have anyone else have this issue too?

i am not sure, because currently i have firefox 45 on my system. and, nvda 2017.3 is the best version of nvda for me! even nvda 2017.2 is very great, and has everythings that i need. but i guess that your issue maybe related to one of these issues on github. https://github.com/nvaccess/nvda/issues/10707 or, https://github.com/nvaccess/nvda/pull/9672

Jacob Kruger
What I did notive when visiting that page, using firefox 74, was that it firstly asked for me for permission to know my location, and then to show notifications - both os those might keep hold of focus until dismissed, and, then it seemed to have opened a form of in-page dialogue asking me to subscribe to a corona newsletter, but, when I activated the close button, then it returned to the article mentioned in the page title.

Re: question regard review cursor.
Quentin Christensen
The Basic Training for NVDA has an entire chapter on the review cursor, followed by one on object navigation (the two concepts go hand in hand). As it happens, the chapter on the review cursor is the one which is available for free to give you a taste of what the whole module is like. You can download it here:
https://www.nvaccess.org/product/basic-training-for-nvda-ebook/ (That's the link to the shop to purchase the module, look for the link for the sample chapter). The module is also available in audio: https://www.nvaccess.org/product/basic-training-for-nvda-downloadable-audio/ (and there is a sample of the audio as well) and also in Braille:
https://www.nvaccess.org/product/basic-training-for-nvda-braille-hard-copy/ (no sample for the Braille as it is hardcopy shipped to you, not downloadable like the others). Kind regards Quentin.
