Scan mode in NVDA?
First, where do we submit feature requests, not bugs. Do we submit a pull request? The feature I find using most often, ironically, isn't even an NVDA feature. I use Narrator's scan mode to actually get to inaccessible controls and otherwise for various reasons. I get it that we have object navigation and the review cursor and otherwise, but how hard would it be to replace object review with scan mode? If not replace, what about just adding it in, period? That being said, where do I go to make this suggestion? Do I file a pull request? I thought those were only for bugs.

Anyway of Getting NVDA 19.3.1 to Read Unlabeled Graphics?
Kenny <kwashingtonbox@...>
Hope everyone is doing well?
I'm a former user of JAWS. Find myself going back to use it for left mouse clicking on unlabeled graphics found on some application windows. The NVDA review cursor only seems to read text displayed on the screen. Since the graphic isn't generating a separate nav object, I'm not able to use that NVDA reading function to see it either. Is there any way of getting NVDA to read the numeric window handle integer of an unlabeled graphic? Sort of how JAWS "Say All Graphics" mode does? Just say something letting me know a graphic is there, so I can route the mouse p ointer to that spot and left click on it. Maybe there's an add-on available that gives NVDA that functionality?

Resource Monitor and Windows 10 App Essentials 20.04
#addonrelease
Hi all,
Resource Monitor and Windows 10 App Essentials 20.04 are now available. Some internal changes were made to Resource Monitor, including upgrading psutil dependency to 5.7.0. Windows 10 App Essentials 20.04 is a localization update ,and the temporary workaround for Word 365 issue (announcing “delete back word” when Control+Backspace is pressed) is now a permanent fix until NVDA itself includes it. Important note for Windows 10 App Essentials users: support for Windows 10 Version 1903 (May 2019 Update) is slowly coming to a close – the add-on will end support for this feature update in July 2020. The good news is that Version 1909 (November 2019 Update) will be supported for a while, and you just need to edit at most four files to restore support for Version 1903 (please don’t do that unless you know what you are doing); this is because 1903 and 1909 are really the same Windows 10 release apart from visible changes.
As always, the new updates are available from community add-ons website and via Add-on Updater.
Cheers, Joseph

Re: problems with nvda
My understanding is that all add-ons shown on the NVDA Community Add-Ons Main Page are compatible with whatever the current version of NVDA happens to be at a given moment in time.
Quite a few of the ones on the Under Development Add-Ons Page are as well. The Legacy Add-Ons Page includes ones only compatible with some former version or versions of NVDA. Clipspeak is showing on the Community Add-Ons Main Page. -- Brian - Windows 10 Pro, 64-Bit, Version 1909, Build 18363 Power is being told you're not loved and not being destroyed by it. ~ Madonna

What? I thought clip speak doesn’t work for the latest version of NVDA. I uninstalled it thinking it will not work. I’ll try to get it back.

Hi
if i remember right there was a add on called clip speak which would do some thing strange like that.
I would go to copy a file but it would not copy it or some times it would then i could paste it.
But have nto used it for a long time so that bug might of been fixed.
I am sure it was that add on? if you have it disabled it then try and copy a file etc and see if it does the job if yes properly a few times then re enable the add on and see it it mucks up again..
Then if that is the case it is that add on.
I think it might of been based off the fake clipboard add on?

Gerardo Corripio
What setting, or why when having the Digit numbers AddOn installed, for instance when in the Windows10 Update screen giving me the update version, it says the numbers inwhole inmillions, when I have it set for that numbers starting from 5digits, it should read a number at a time? What special circumstances should be numbersbe in, for the AddON to work properly? Thanks for any info.

NVDA getting stuck in frames in Firefox
Greg Williams
Hi,
NVDA 2019.3 frequently gets stuck in frames in Firefox (I am using Firefox 67 currently). I seemed to be able to repeat it consistently on this page: https://www.koco.com/article/oklahoma-cowboy-museum-puts-security-guard-in-charge-of-social-media-during-closure-now-hes-going-viral/31925162?fbclid=IwAR2LVA2FN66nWA70ZclWMEaxhCHyyM3d4R4E3-uCtpljzi5raYJF_gbImz4 (any enjoyment from the actual page is a bonus). Sometimes refreshing content NVDA+f5 works, and sometimes NVDA+ctrl+space works, and sometimes I have to restart NVDA. Pressing tab moves through the elements on the page, but the arrow keys only read the frame content. I tried the new beta, but it also gets stuck. I am running Windows 10. Do other people experience this, or is there some quirk in my setup? Thanks. Greg

problems with nvda
Marisane Moruthanyana
Hi nvda gurus
I trust you are well even in this era of corona. I have been facing challenges with nvda over the past few days. nvda does behave strangely. When I cut a file from one location to another, the file does not get cut. Even when I am sure that I did cut it, it remains in the original location as if I copied it. This is confusing to be told 'replace the file' which one is sure one has cut from the original location. What is wrong here? I am convinced that it is not Windows but nvda, because jaws does not do that. Your assistance is appreciated in this regard. Wally

Re: NVDA not announcing left/right panel in 64-bit Total Commander
Ralf Kefferpuetz
That’s a known issue, if you like you can try out my addon for Total Commander which fixes that and adds some more features: https://github.com/Novalis7747/totalcmd-enhanced/raw/master/totalcmd-0.6.3.nvda-addon

Hi,
With 64-bit Total Commander NVDA is not reporting which panel is left/right on pressing TAB. I don’t know if it is trained on the listbox window class name but if so, I can report that the 64-bit Total Commander is built with a different GUI toolkit and the listbox has the class name „LCLListBox“.

Why don't you report this on the TC forum? It would take the
developer a few minutes to fix, and would save a lot of work
figuring this out in an addon.

Lol Who the heck is still using Windows XP in 2020? Time to upgrade, folks. It is riddled with security holes and Microsoft droppde support for it years ago

More information on SpeakOn based on questions on this thread and others. SpeakOn home page is at: http://www.speakon.org.uk/SpeakOn.html You will find information on the media types its support, links to the docs and mailing list. The tutorials produced by David Griffith recently found somewhere else on this thread are excellent. Although the latest version was released in 2016 with one minor exception everything works and there are know known bugs. SpeakOn supports English only and does not support Braille. It does not support PDF either. It is recommended by RNIB in the UK for reading their audio books in Daisy; SpeakOn supports Daisy 2 used mostly (I think) in Europe. It does not support Daisy 3 in the US. Being developed in the UK it supports RNIB newspapers and magazines in test (epub) and audio. It supports the epub format generally. It does not support DRM as used mostly in the US The NVDA SpeakOn add-on is not necessary to use it but makes sure that NVDA does not speakOn when SpeakOn has the focus; it does not speak much anyway and I shall release an updated version of this add-on soon to this list. I saw that too, but it hasn't crashed with 2020.1 beta1 so far yet, which got a LibLouis update. Try the beta, and see how you get along.
