Re: Sentence nav: I can not read the previous sentence in some documents using notepad ++
Gene
Because, though I haven't used this specific
program, I have observed that not using object navigation causes unexpected
results that people wouldn't realize had anything to do with using screen
rview. In lists of files and folders, I have found that using screen
review results in me hearing information spoken that doesn't reflect where I
am. I didn't say this is the cause of the problem. I asked what
review mode is being used in case it isn't object review.

Hi, Ha, found the root cause: this is Word issue, not NVDA. In short, Word announces this, which NVDA picks up. The short-term solution is to block all sorts of announcements like this from Word, with the ideal solution being blocking only some messages. Technical: UIA notification event problem. I’ll comment on a potential fix on a GitHub issue Quentin has created. Cheers, Joseph

Lately, when I hit the control+backspace keys to delete a word, NVDA does not announce the word I am deleting. Instead, it says “delete back word.” I would much prefer that it says the word I am deleting, as it always has before. I have also since tested this in Notepad, and in Outlook. Both of those are acting normally. They do not say “delete back word.” If anyone can help me figure out how to set this back to normal in MS Word, please let me know. Thanks so much. Konnie Ellis

Re: Sentence nav: I can not read the previous sentence in some documents using notepad ++
Gene
There is no PC cursor. That is a JAWS name
for more or less the application cursor. Do you know about the review
modes such as screen review and object review? If you are using screen
review, you will get unexpected and unwanted results in some situations.
You should always switch to object review after you finish using a different
review mode. If you don't know about these modes and have never changed
them, you are probably using object navigation.

Re: Hard and soft cursor in NVDA?
I honestly have no idea what distinction you're trying to make, as I've never heard "hard" and "soft" used as adjectives for system cursor versus screen reader cursor, for instance.
I'd suggest you review the Commands Quick Reference looking at the information regarding the review cursor and/or object navigation. You can bring that up with NVDA+N,H,Q -- Brian - Windows 10 Pro, 64-Bit, Version 1909, Build 18363 Power is being told you're not loved and not being destroyed by it. ~ Madonna

Hello NVDA community,
It is with heavy heart that I announce that I’m stepping down from active development of StationPlaylist add-on, effective about a year from now. For the last seven years, SPL add-on grew from a small app module (developed way back in 2011 by Geoff Shang and James Teh) to one of the most powerful and recognizable add-ons out there. Developments in NVDA brought interesting features to SPL add-on such as concept of broadcast profiles, while concepts developed from SPL add-on are planned to be incorporated into NVDA such as add-on updating facility.
As I thought about what my life would look like in the near future, it has become clear to me that I need to let go of various things, including SPL add-on. Although developing the add-on was a fun experience and taught me many things, I need to focus on more important things, the most immediate one being getting an undergraduate degree so I can focus on graduate school in the near future. I’m hoping that whoever is going to maintain this add-on from next year onwards will upgrade the add-on significantly and make it more productive for broadcasters everywhere.
To ease this transition, I’ll stop accepting feature requests soon – I’ll announce this when that happens. I’ll focus on adding one or two high priority requests this summer (winter in southern hemisphere), then focus on bug fixes and needed changes for the rest of the year. In March 2021 or 30 days after NVDA 2021.1 is released, I’ll turn off my transmitter i.e. no more SPL add-on releases from me (development snapshots will end in early 2021).
To everyone who provided valuable feedback for the last seven years, thank you. Cheers, Joseph

I also love 1core. You won't be able to hear it as I am using VAC but trust me, it's responsive. Maybe a sound card issue perhaps? Blessings and happy Friday. Sarah Alawami, owner of TFFP. . Are you using object review or screen review or
something else? I have never used the add-on you are using but even so, be
sure you are in object navigation unless the add-on explicitly says you should
be in something else.

Subject: [nvda] Sentence nav: I can not read the previous sentence
in some documents using notepad ++ There's something quite annoying going on here: when I try to read the previous sentence on a document using notepad ++, it reads the current sentence instead of reading the previous one. Is there someone there having the same issue? I tried to use notepad from windows, but sentence nav is too slow on it. It takes about four seconds to read each sentence. I have NVDA 2019.3.1 and last sentence nav's version available on githup. Thank you so much!
