The NVDA version can only be used for NVDA.

The other version can be used on windows and for any other speaking app/screen reader.

Not sure which is better because I have only used and paid for the NVDA version.

Just curious, does doing it this way make the change apply globally to all files and folders or just to the one that you're viewing at the time?  I see all the controls you've mentioned, but have not used this technique, always going the File Options dialog in Control Panel instead.

Hi all!

 

Just ran across something a few days ago when I installed the latest nvda update.  I’m a winamp user.  When you hit s for shuffle or r for repeat, you should hear “on” or “off.”  It doesn’t say anything but “off.”  Weird!  I even tried uninstalling and reinstalling winamp.  I always get the light version.  I’m guessing there haven’t been any updates since 5.63.  Radionomy hasn’t done anything with it as far as I know.  Maybe I’m wrong and that’s the issue.  Anyway, like I said, it’s a pretty minor thing in the grand scheme of things but I just wanted someone to know.

Hi

Open File Explorer

Press the alt key to open the menu bar, then use left arrow to move to

the "File tab

Arrow down to "Options Change settings for opening items, file and

folder views and search" and press enter

In the dialog that opens press Control+tab to move to the "view" tab

Press tab once to move to the "Advanced Settings" treeview

Navigate the treeview with up/down arrows, use spacebar to

check/uncheck settings, one of which is for hiding/showing hidden

files and folders

When done tab toOK button and press enter.

Note Your User account may require administrator privileges to use this feature.

The command control alt n, the command used to start NVDA will restart it, but I would think there are times when it can't, depending on how it freezes.

I feel your pain, haha. I want to make original graphics for my YouTube channel but haven’t found a solution.
I began working on a Windows desktop app in C# where you choose a shape from a drop down and then fill out relevant attributes — length, height, border/fill colors etc and it draws it on the canvas. I was taking a class where we needed to draw up a simple mockup of the GUI of the apps we were building as homewor assignments so I was trying to make myself a utility that would allow me to build a UI mockup without being able to see it. Long story short, I got it partially finished but moved on to other things and never finished it. Maybe I should dig back into it.
