Thank you for all of that but I want to learn how to speed up the playback of YouTube videos using NVDA

Are used to put them into VLC media player But if the YouTube is part of a playlist VLC media player no longer seems to play it

I liked that player because I could speed up and slow down the playback pause and do all sorts of media type things with the video Stream

I’ll talk to sighted people and they say that there is a way of doing that on the normal YouTube videos screen that comes up But I haven’t yet worked out how to do it with NVDA by the way I’m using Mozilla Firefox And Windows 10 with all updates applied

If you feel the following is confusing, I have mentioned the very very basic style of navigation at the bottom of this reply which I was used when I was started to use YouTube with NVDA.

Open a browser and press Ctrl + L and type or copy and paste the below url.

youtube.com/feed/subscriptions

and press enter key. It will open the subscriptions page to see the videos from the channels you have subscribed.

After the page loads, press D until you hear Main Landmark Today Heading Level 2

This puts you in the main part of the webpage.

Then pressing 3 key will help you to read the title of the first video and again pressing 3 key will read the next and so on. Pressing Shift + 3 will work in vice versa (reverse).

After moving the navigation to the video you like, press space bar key or Enter key to play the video. A new page is loaded and the selected video will start to play in the next page.

The Title of the video which is currently playing will be in Heading 1 level. So, pressing 1 or Shift + 1 will tells you the current playing video's title.

To jump to the current playing video's player controls, press D or Shift +d until NVDA says Main Landmark. Then pressing the tab key will change the controls to the slider, pause, mute, next, settings, etc. Shift + tab for moving vice versa. (Or B key to navigate by buttons such as play, pause, next, mute, etc.)

For that see the following:
Pressing 3 will tell the title of the suggested videos (which is on the right side) one by one. Shift + 3 for vice versa.

Pressing Enter or Space bar will play that video.

If you feel the above was confusing, simply press H key or Shift + H key to navigate by headings (video titles). D or Shift D for Landmarks, B or Shift B for buttons such as play, pause, action, like, dislike etc.

Hello,

I used the soundmanager addon for modifying volume  of various

application in Windows.

Since NVDA 2019.3 obviously it doesn't work anymore.

I downloaded from the github repository the addon for NVDA 2019.3, I

changed the manifest.ini because it was outdated and now the addon is

correctly installed.

But the nvda-shift-v shortcut don't work and I can't see any options in

the main NVDA settings window.

Do you have an  updated version of this amazing tool?

I still use a quite old version of NVDA because I don't need a newer one with the programs and Windows versions I use and it does certain things more smoothly, such as how it works with my e-mail program.  I don't consider it not to be modern.  It is an old version, which has very different connotations.

I see where "modern" comes from, but wonder whether "current" might be more appropriate. "Modern" being preciously relative, "current" reflects the present, i.e., here and now.

That's an interesting point. I think part of the reason for labeling it that way is due to Python 2 versus Python 3 - the former is ancient now, and the latter is modern.

I'm not thrilled that this add-on is said to work with "modern" NVDA, as some folks think 2019.2.1 is pretty modern already. Why can't that page just say 2019.3 and above, and be done with it?

oh good job on gathering this list. However, I see also some ilegal addons in there (i.e. eloquence and cracked Akapella or Vocalizer voices). If you want them to work, you have to download them from official sources like CodeFactory or Tiflotecnia. Due to NVDA being free of charge, I guess it is reasonable and also respectful to at least spend some cash on useful things such as a synthesizer which in fach isnot very expensive.

Other addons like Sentencenav, Browsernav, Bluetooth audio, TextNav etc are already uptodate but the author did not request to update them officially. You can contact him directly or you can download the addons here:

Regarding Access solutions addon and the NVDA store addon, as Yannick already says, the addon is discontinued as well as other addons like i.e. console timer (not needed anymore), screen curtain (not needed anymore) or Vital Book Shelf (not needed anymore).

For addons from access solutions, please feel free to contact them if you want the addons to work further. This is valid for all the other addons that do not work.

By the way, audio themes 3d is working, the addon can be found on the official addons website under the development section.

Hi all, since morning, I’m trying to separate all of the NVDA addons that are available on my pc, my result is as follows:

Total: 146 addons.

Working: 73.

Non-working: 73.

Means 50 percent of my addons have been effected due to the migration of the NVDA from python 2 to python3.

I hope that these addons will working again, you can get my addons collection and check them your self.
